The worst. The computer was shipped with NO ethernet driver
The computer is okay. Not the "bleeding edge" of technology by any means but apparently fast enough for my needs. On the other hand, Dell Quality Control, tech support and sales support are ABYSMAL, though! The worst. The computer was shipped with NO ethernet driver. It was nowhere on the hard drive! Luckily I had a wifi connection and through some research found the proper driver online and installed it. Had a problem with "CPU spikes" and contacted support - in INDIA! Kept me on the phone for over an hour, "cleaned up" a bunch of files that supposedly contained a "malicious file", then told me I needed to buy either a $279 dollar support plan for a year, or buy a single support incident to continue fixing the problem for $90!!!! I screamed "OH NO you don't!" and immediately rebooted the computer to disconnect him from my system and hung up the phone. What a SCAM! I made sure to remove "support application", and it's pieces, that allowed them access to my computer remotely, I then found that he had now disabled my WIFI (among other problems created) while "cleaning up malicious files". There were a couple of other problems that I managed to fix after hours of work. I also used Advanced System Care to find the error in the Setup of my main application (Pro Tools audio recording system) that was actualy causing the system to show "CPU spikes". Changed that setting and - poof! no more spikes.Malicious files indeed.... Did I mention that the "technician" was arrogant, rude, and vaguely threatening when I tried to tell him he didn't need to talk to me in baby talk - I've been using and working on PC's since 1979 - he shouted at me while pulling up some random folder full of possible registry entries on my screen " Okay okay Show me! Show me how you fix these malicious files! Come on Show me! You can't!!There is no-one in this country I can find to speak to @ Dell. I will NEVER order from Dell again. They are not the Dell I remember from past experiences both private and professionally.

So far, so good.
The Dell arrived with Windows 7 pre-loaded on the hard drive. Launching it and getting all of the updates since 2010 took a couple of hours. It was said to ship with Win10 Pro, and did arrive with a DVD declaring "Already installed on your computer." The DVD would not boot, nor would it launch the update process to migrate to Windows 10. Connecting to Dell's online support allowed a Tech in India to take control of the machine and launch the process. I'd call it a slow, and somewhat clumsy process.Ordinarily I would only review a product after a week or two, but the PC has been running nearly non-stop now for two days without a hiccup. It's fast enough, has lots of space, and I found Dell's online help to be easy to work with - very responsive.

a very nice W7 machine
I hesitated writing a review right away, as sometimes new computers don't seem to work as well as they seem when you first fire them up. That said, this one seems really good. I specifically was looking for a Windows 7 machine because I bought a new W10 machine and took it back after a day. The user interface (to me) was convoluted. Try as I might, I couldn't get used to the new operating system. My only complaint (and the reason for 4 stars) is that the DVD playback isn't as clear as I would expect. Not a huge deal to me, as I don't regularly play DVD's on it, but I think it should be clearer for the 5th star...

Its ok but could have been better.
The ordering process was horrible. One minute it was going to arrive one day and the next it was a week later. It was coming from one place then it was coming from somewhere else. When I finally got it, I set it up, and it will go into hibernate mode, and when you wake it up, there are no icons on the monitor. So you have to shut it off on the tower and restart it. There is a glitch somewhere and I can't find it. I have to do a factory reset and reinstall everything.
