i bought my wife a nice sony bluetooth speaker to put the television sound closer to her on the couch as it tends to echo in the living room with high ceilings and wood floors. she also likes to tune the tv to the music channels our cable carrier has sometimes. i thought the tv had bluetooth built in, but i learned that it did not. after some research i came across this unit and for the price and ratings it seemed like it would be a good fit for my application. unit arrived in a nifty little box with all of the parts and a tiny little instruction sheet. it had me a little worried, me being a middle aged man with slightly-above-average-for-my-age tech skills and aging eyes that have trouble with tiny little type these days. i used the usb charging cable hooked to my pc to get it charged up for a few hours, took a quick look over the sheet which made it all look simple enough to hook up and pair, and it was simple enough. i plugged in the 3.5mm jack, plugged in the usb, turned on the speaker and hit the pair buttons on both. it took a few seconds, both beeped and the sound started up on the new sony speaker. it has yet to fail to connect going on 2 weeks now. i expected it to need pairing once in a while to keep the connection, but so far so good. there is a very small lag in the sound, literally a fraction of a second, between the tv speakers and the bluetooth speaker, but simply turning the sound all the way down on the tv solves that. my wife loves it because she can now sit at the kitchen table and see and hear the tv while she works because she can take the sound with her. it also allows her to move and turn the speaker if she's working in the kitchen (open floor plan) or sitting in a different place in the living room. all in all i recommend this bluetooth transmitter highly. i haven't used it as a receiver and don't foresee a need to anytime soon, but i will assume it works as effortlessly as the broadcast does. guys: if you're looking for a cool gift for your wife/girlfriend... a nice bluetooth speaker and this device will have her thanking you after she gets over the whole "you really bought it for yourself" thing and hears how great the sound on the tv is using it. from my office 25 feet away i can barely hear the tv now...

I bought a $9 Bluetooth TX/RX a month ago and it had a quarter-second lag transmitting to my quality headphones. So I bought this one for $15, but it has the same lag time. So if you don't mind video lip-syncing being slightly off, then this could be ok for you; although there are cheaper similar-quality ones out there. My search continues.

This item is exactly the size I want but it is hard to pair with devices, the battery doesn't last long and overall its a bit frustrating. It was pretty cheap so I didn't expect much and you get what you pay for. My use is for my car to phone bluetooth for music.

SUMMARY: I've tried many Bluetooth receivers in the past few years. This is the only one for the price that supports all the major audio codecs. While many receivers support apt-X LL for cheaper, this was the cheapest receiver that also supported apt-X HD for higher quality listening. As an audio head this was very important to me since there aren't many Bluetooth 5.0 devices on the market yet. I was really impressed with the sound quality and ease of use with this guy! I haven't tried it as a transmitter, but for receiving audio this unit has been top notch!Sound Quality: Quite surprised how good it sounds. Sound almost as good as any phone jack I've heard. Plays music much louder than I Bluetooth receiver I have used to date, and that was while driving massive planar magnetic headphones. Obviously not as good as an external DAC/AMP; even the cheapest external DAC/AMPs produce a higher fidelity sound than a phone DAC will. But for Bluetooth I was extremely impressed.Since I was only interested in this unit as a receiver I have not tested the mic input, but I would assume it is just as good as any Bluetooth car adapter microphone. However, I did an informal range test and moved away from my phone while playing music. I went into my garage, and my basement with hardly a stutter in the sound. I would estimate at least 25ft through some walls and it was still playing strong. I've had devices that start stuttering with my phone in my pocket.If you want the highest quality sound without having to buy an expensive Bluetooth 5.0 device, then this is what you want.

I bought this thinking I would hook up a couple bluetooth speakers in my living room to it and play music from an echo flex. It plugs into the flex fine with the included short cable. Its fairly easy to pair up a couple speakers to it, you just hold the button in the middle with one speaker off, then when its paired turn on the other speaker and hold the button again to pair to the second speaker as well.The battery doesnt last long so I leave mine plugged in.Also there's a slight delay between the speakers and they arent in stereo its more like dual mono.I only use it in transmit mode so I cant say how well it works as a BT receiver.

I ordered a couple different styles of these. The other one was 50% more expensive than this one. Low latency was important because I'm using these to transmit audio to the other side of a large room where audio from the original source is also playing in the same room. The delay in this one is basically indistinguishable whereas the more expensive one had a lag that was definitely more noticeable with the same speaker. Very pleased and this will be more reliable than my old audio transmitter/receiver that used a wifi type signal. I also used this at Christmas for a projection and the battery was still going after about 6 hours. Not sure how long it would have lasted because I turned it off. Very good device even though it's one of the cheaper ones on Amazon!
