Doing some work
Has this fixed my drain fly infestation? No. Has it helped? Yes. As I saw in some other reviews, it is at least in part about positioning. The first few days I had this running, it really didn't catch much, even though I thought it was in a place the flies frequented. I've since moved it to a few different places around the place with much more success. If I weren't moving soon, I'd buy another one to have two constantly going in the worst areas.I wish it came with more sticky pads. Two seems like an afterthought. Also, the official refills are a bit pricy. I found some knock-off ones that were much cheaper and work pretty well.

Gets the pesky flying insects
We keep this in the kitchen near the stove and the food preparation area. Every once in a while we see some little insect flying around. They are always impossible to swat but are attracted to this device. It is easy to clean and provides a "night light" in blue that is very unobtrusive in the kitchen. We hardly know that it is there and gives us a sense of safety knowing that it is there.

Fairly effective
Bought it to deal with fruit flies in my kitchen. At first, it didn’t seem to be working at all and the sticky panel was empty. After about a week or so of leaving it on 24/7, I started to notice some “catches”. Not 100% effective but it’s helping to cut down on the number of these little pests. Seems to only work if the immediate surrounding area is not too brightly lit up.

$14.95 to catch a single gnat in days
Three days in and I don't expect it to get any better. I realize this purchase was most likely a mistake. The STEM Light Trap: Indoor Fruit Fly Trap is more likely to collect more dust than bugs. I appreciate their efforts for safe green solutions, but they've provided little to no convincing scientific evidence this mechanism actually works, benefits and trade-offs. I believe we all convince ourselves this might be a solution. The Stem trap uses blue light, which might work. It's probably not bright enough. UV-A spectrum would be optimal. UV-A presents some health and safety concerns. So the blue light models probably avoid safety issues and warnings at the expense of most likely being less effective.Don't rush out and buy a UV-A unit without research and careful consideration.Given a choice between a window or the trap, the insects will mostly likely choose the window for both light spectrum, quality of light and brightness. This trap might work at night.Strobe Effect. Insects probably see a disco strobe light or the equivalent of a flashing warning light. The LED uses pulse width modulation to control the brightness. The flickering is too fast for humans to see it, but what about our insect friends? Will they see something appealing or unnatural? See the timelapse photo showing the strobing. You don't want to use this in your bedroom. Blue light interferes with your Circadian Rhythms, your inner clock, production of melatonin and your sleep cycle. The clear lens prevents you, family and pets from coming into contact with the glue trap to a degree, but also is an initial barrier for the insects as well and it's brighter than the the adhesive trap as well. Maybe an open grid would be better.

Great for fruit flies!
I have used other products like this before but the light is on the front and attracts more bugs. The sticky sheets on the back are double sided unlike other products I have used. It worked great for me and eliminated the problem in two nights use.

Not impressed
Tried this in several places in my home and it really just doesn't work. There's hardly any bugs attracted to it at all and when I went to clean out the glue trap to replace it after a month there was only three bugs on it so obviously they're not attracted to it

These are the best
Oh my goodness....these are the best for those darn fruit flies or gnats that always come out in the summer months! Work great and so simple to use.

Easy easy to install and super efficient
Incredibly easy product to use just plug in the light and a stick pad and let the light do all the work. As you can see from the photo it works. I had a lot of little flying bugs in my kitchen from a new house plant I inherited and they are no longer an issue, I am beyond satisfied, I have since bought additional stick pads and will continue to use this product.
