The media could not be loaded. Does not take opengd77, and does not display calls only id#. But unlike the dm1701, disconnection is cake just go to different tg.

Was send a used radio, that had been previously programmed. Was also missing the programming cable and the users manual. All items had been removed their protective plastic.

I was looking for an inexpensive entry into DMR. As an analog user I thought it might be a good way to learn. The hardest part of the radio was not the programming, but the digital terms used in this field of Ham communications. It didn't take very long to learn how to configure the radio and make several contacts in the digital world. Glad I got this and took the first step. Tx and Rcv audio sound pretty good. Dolby Stereo it isn't, but good communications. The 1000+ memory channels are nice to have, but it's going to be a little while to find that many repeaters. Very happy with the solid feel and flawless operation of this unit.

The item I ordered, a BAOFENG DM 1801UV, did not work out of the box. The battery holds a charge but the radio itself is not operational

Poor planning on my part may save you some aggravation later. This is a stripped down piece of junk and is not worth the cheap cost. It does not have the needed electronic components to be programmed with standard CHIRP programming software. I would not recommend this radio to my worst enemy. Poor quality and poor value for the money.

Hard to program

I purchased this in March 2024. Haven't tried to program until now. RT Systems won't support it. All comments are poor. Buyer beware. Wish I could return it.
