Does a nice job
Sadly my refrigerator draws more at startup than this can document. Not a lot of help in choosing the size of generator needed. It does keep a running total of the energy consumed. The manual (hard to call a piece of small paper a manual but)... mentions power factor and it is on one of the screens but there is ZERO explanation of what that means. Since I saw power factors of .47 to .97 some indication of WTF it means would not only be helpful but I think necessary. The manual needs to be redone and fleshed out a bunch.Display is nice but when it is illuminated you MUST be directly in front of it as to read the display. It has a minimal angle of viewing. Suggest you get an extension cord and plug the extension into the wall and the unit you want to check it's power usage plugged into the Floureon. That way you can put the Floureon in a location you can see with or without the illumination. So why 4 stars after what I wrote? Because it does it's job. I do not want to ding them because the manual is crap so.

This problem can be avoided if an extension cord of at least 14 gauge wire is used so the meter can be oriented for easy reading while you standing up
The meter works as advertised. However the screen can only be read if your eyes are at the same elevation as the screen. If the outlet it is plugged into is low on the wall, as most of them are, you will have to get down on the floor to read the screen. This problem can be avoided if an extension cord of at least 14 gauge wire is used so the meter can be oriented for easy reading while you standing up.

Instant Credibility
I'd been having voltage problems, thanks to some power lines and poles from the 1950's With this meter I would call the utility company and was able to prove that they were only delivering 106.7vac which would trip my high tech HVAC units' low voltage safety shut off. They couldn't argue with evidence right in front of them. The low voltage problem was finally corrected!!

Monitor Does Its Initial Job, But I Cannot Understand The Product Manual At All
Edit:After contacting the company about the state of the manual, I was given a draft of the new manual that actually explains what was going on with some of the undocumented functions. Now that I know how to use this monitor correctly, changing score. This review is for the A/C bypass electrical usage monitor. There seem to be quite a number of reviews for a thermoregulator or something having to do with a furnace. I needed a monitor to measure some odd variable power use out of one of my computers, and while the circuit is turned on, the measurement from the monitor seems accurate and within the parameters that I expect.

Accurate
First time trying this and see which of the appliance i recently put in damage my wallet. To my surprise, it was the my portable heater, not my son super computer , he leaves it all all day and i blamed him every time i received the power bill, sorry son. The device itself is very easy to use, with backlit display (only on when you are adjusting the setting), input the cost of your electricity, plug that into the outlet and plug whatever you want to monitor in that. It will tell you exactly how much it cost you to run that appliance.

Dont know how accurate is this, but works fine.
works fine, dont know how accurate this is.-- display does not stay on, it has a timer actuated on button press- display is very hard to read from any angle but directly in front of it.

Faulty grounding
It works fine for most uses, but my primary reason for purchase was to monitor the monthly kWh usage of an electric car. The car would not charge when plugged in to this monitor, because the car's charger said the outlet wasn't grounded. I would've returned it, but I only paid $14 and decided it wasn't worth the hassle.
