$42 to save me over $500
My RV water heater element went bad and had to be replaced. Unfortunately the hole was so corroded that the new element wouldn't seat fully and thus couldn't seal, resulting in a slow leak.Everyone I talked to said it was time for a new water heater, over $500! After tapping the hole with this set the new element now seats and seals perfectly.

They work.
Yes, you can purchase more expensive and better quality taps but these do work. I’d buy them again.

Nice set for chasing damaged threads.
Since these are not HSS, they would struggle to tap new threads into ferrous material, but they work great to chase damaged threads in steel or cast iron. They would although work well to cut new threads in softer materials. They are nicely machined, sharp and come in a nice wooden box.

Quality and Price
Drill America! Great Value with a quality well proven product. A tool every home mechanic or fabricator should have in there tool box.

Have a backup box for these.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Product was worth it however, a poor choice in wood for the box. Thin pine plywood, broke during shipping and handling. Not even sure if it can be repaired, piece of the lid the hinges screwed into broke at the seem.
