a must have travel cot
I have almost never written a positive review before - but this product absolutely deserves it. I had have this for 18 months, since my son was 18 months old and he is now 3 years old. and he absolutely loves it. I wanted to check the listing on amazon just now to see what age it is recommended up till, as I want to plan a trip for next year and see what the age recommendation was - and realised I should write up a review. This is a great product - first thing, is this a SO light in weight. I also have the more traditional folding travel cot, and I literally never use it, as it is heavy - this tent is wonderfully light and easy to carry. The mattress inflates and sites in the base. It's comfortable and practical. As my son has got older, he now prefers to leave the tent unzipped so he can get out easily himself, and that works just fine too.My personal tip for this (or any other travel cot), is to get your child used to it at home before travelling. At home, it is their familiar environment and it's easier to try something new. I used it at home for about a week before travelling, so then when we did travel, it was something familiar to him and he settled down to sleep relatively easily in the new place.

Why is there a nail?
The cot itself is nice, a bit bigger than expected which is good. However, I don't know whether my baby will sleep in it as I haven't tried yet.. And I'm glad I haven't! I left the cot opened for a week to air it. I've decided to try folding it (yes, it's quite easy to do). Then.. When I unfolded it, the cot landed on the side so I was looking at the bottom and that's when I saw something shiny... To my horror, it was a broken nail. I do not understand why it's there and I'm so glad my baby hasn't been in it as she could have been injured.I've emailed customer service and to my surprise I haven't had a reply yet. This is disappointing as in the past they've always been very helpful and fast.UpdateCustomer service actually did take action. They forwarded my email to Executive Customers Relations. It is reassuring that Amazon takes safety seriously. An investigation was done and the executive was very helpful.

Great concept, apart from the noisy zips!!!
The cot itself is great, but who puts the nosiest zips in the world right next to a child’s head!? Cot can’t be left unzipped as it’s too easy for baby to roll out. I have tried 10 times tonight to zip it up without waking the baby. Absolute nightmare!
