Birch Edge Banding, 3/4 inch x 50ft roll of Veneer Edge Banding Pre-glued Flexible, Wood Tape Banding for Cabinet Repair

I tried out several different edge banding brands and they either didn’t ahere well or didn’t take stain. This one is a winner because it does both! Could do for a little more glue on the backing but it still stays put if you apply high heat for a longer time. Color isn’t an exact match to the Home Depot birch plywood but it’s pretty close.

This product did not come with instructions. I was able to figure it out by looking up videos. I bought this product after a home improvement project. I needed some shelves for my bedroom closet but was unable to find any premade ones that would fit. I decided to build my own. I used 3/4 plywood. The shelves were great but the edges were unfinished and unattractive. I researched and found this product. I ordered it, it arrived quickly, and was excited to use it. I actually used a Cricut small iron to adhere the product. I recommend having a heat resistant glove or cloth of some sort before you start as well as a box cutter or a pair of scissors. I began by lining up the edges of the product and started ironing. It did get hot and started peeling away from the edge of the wood so I used a piece of cloth to press it back down. I held it for several seconds and kept going heating and holding. It got easier and faster the more I worked. When the adhesive heats up it makes the strip very tacky. Before heating the strip is somewhat ridged butane heated it becomes more flexible. 50 ft. for my small project was more than enough but I now have some for future projects!

I work with a lot of plywood. It's cheap, durable and easy to find. Problem is the edges look like plywood. When making storage cabinets, I always hate to look at the unfinished edges. This is the perfect solution. Just grab and iron, heat up the top side and roll it across the edge. Bonds quickly and holds strong. Just trim off with a file or blade. Now the plywood edges look finished.

Not bad. Takes stain well, grain pattern is fine. Will add lacquer to to see how it finishes - bought this specifically to replacing edge banding on MCM dressers - matching the stain is the hard part 😆

I got tired of trimming the edge banding and I was very excited to get this 3/4 wide banding. It is thinner than what you get in the big box store, so you have to be careful with sanding.It’s only about 1/32” wider than the 3/4 plywood so you could just sand down the edges. The color (birch) is very nice as well. However…the GLUE is very crappie. I started ironing the banding on after prepping the edges…but it kept peeling away from some parts of the edge of the pw!!!!! So I taped them down while they were still hot thinking maybe as it cools down will stick. But nooo it didn’t! It either pulled away completely again from the pw after cooling down or the edges stuck and you could see the air bubbles inside! Veeeryyyy frustrating….aaand I can’t even return it! So now I’m worried that the rest is going to start doing the same thing when the bookshelf is already put together! I’m very disappointed! Waste of time and money!!!!!!I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

Easy to apply and stained well. I used birch plywood and this edging tape once stained looked just like the plywood.

Love this product. Have used it many times. Highly recommend.
