Play with Me: Playing for Keeps, Book 2

The sweetest and sexiest story of the series so far. So happy I found this author. Her characters are so loveable and hilarious. A must read

Play With Me was an entertaining and steamy hockey romance book. While, this can be read as a standalone it is part of an interconnected series, Playing for Keeps. So I would recommend just reading the prior book first for better context and backstory on certain characters.It is dual POVs of the main characters (Garrett Andersen and Jennie Beckett) and has some great tropes like: brother’s best friend, friends with benefits and close proximity. I would suggest checking the content and trigger warnings before reading just in case.The overall premise was wonderful, but I will say that it did take me a bit to fully get into the story as it was a bit slow in the beginning. There were some amusing, sweet, angsty and heartbreaking moments as well, that I absolutely loved. The portrayal and discussions regarding grief, loneliness and self acceptance were beautifully written and handled as well.The one downside of this book was that there was a lot of repetitive dialogue and it definitely could have been shorter.The romance between Garrett and Jennie was absolutely beautiful. I loved their connection, banter and chemistry. Garrett’s respect and understanding of Jennie’s feelings and limitations was handled beautifully as well. The spice was also quite incredible as a lot of toys were used!Jennie’s backstory definitely made me tear up. Completely understandable why she was so afraid to let someone in and why her brother was so protective and overbearing as well. I loved her character development and overall journey but there were a few aspects that could have been more discussed upon in my opinion.While, there necessarily wasn’t a third act conflict there was some miscommunication between them. The ending was a bit rushed as well, but still a wonderful conclusion and epilogue.Overall, just a delightful read!

Becka Mack keeps this story as real as the first in the PLAYING FOR KEEPS SERIES. Her use of real human personality types is spot on even when it comes to Krissy and Simon. I've personally come across people like them and they can really make others feel so bad about themselves unless you don't understand how and why they are that way. Its best to keep your distance. No need to keep hitting your head against a brick wall.Carter is as crazy funny as ever but over reacts when he discovers the truth about Jennie and Garrett. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't trust his best friend and sister. However, I see it was essential for the storyline. Another great read overall. Ill be moving on immediately to the next 2 books in the series!

I didn't realize I had never written reviews for this series, which is insane because it is my comfort/favorite series that I will recommend to anyone who will listen to me lol! All the feels, tugging of heart strings, laughter, tears, just all of the emotions in the best ways! Yes, I said this for Consider Me, but it applies to the entire series mkay?Carter & Olivia are so hard to beat in my heart, but Garrett & Jennie are so heartwarming! A little friends with benefits, brothers best friend/teammate, secret romance all rolled into this makes for such a fun & STEAMY read! Their chemistry is insane, and I love that Garrett isn't intimidated by *toys*. Although Indiana Bones had me literally CACKLING! IYKYK!This one has some heavier themes than Consider Me at times, but Garrett's patience with Jennie & his absolute devotion to her is the sweetest, even through drama. I love them do dang much!

It was a good story line but first book was better. I definitely will recommend this book. It was enjoyable

Okay so this book honestly didn’t get good until about 75% through. I truly thought about dnfing numerous times. It just didn’t keep my attention. I love carter and Ollie but this book literally felt like book 2 of their story with a side of gare and jennie. The whole secret relationship for literally 80% of the book was truly annoying. The characters themselves were great and I enjoyed their personality but omg the plot and story line just didn’t do it for me. Was honestly going to 2 star the book but the ending saved it.

Book two of this series got my attention from the first page! Funny and interesting with more of a real life touch. Moving on to the third one and hopefully will be light and funny too!

Cannot resist Beckas stories and can’t put down its now 1:20 am and just finished will be long day tomorrow and worth every minute! This story is just so much fun to read. It includes so many friendships, love stories, family and always humour.don’t know about other people but to me to have humour in a hot sexy romance makes it perfect. A must read..

Im an absolute sucker for a brothers best friend book, and this one was fantastic.Garrett is so cute when he is first getting to know Jenni. He's such a fumbling mess, and it's so endearing, but damn does that man find his dirty side when he and Jenni finally give into their sizzling chemistry.The banter between these two was off the charts, and I found myself laughing out loud so many times whilst listening to it, and the inner monologues they both have going on is equally good and so funny!!There are some really heartbreaking moments in the book, and I really felt for Jenni as she struggled to find her place in the world.The narrators for this book are so good. I love how they bring the story to life and definitely made me enjoy it even more.I can't wait for Adams story and more from the gang
