Okay, at the end of the day this is a piece of plastic. A very high quality tray but nonetheless still plastic. Looks very neat on the shower bar and better than most other, cheaper alternatives.

Genuine replacement
Genuine dish, quite a large circle but very strong. The insert that connects to the riser can be removed, so it does fit on the old rubber from the original riser fitting.

One of the few soap dishes £8, that would fit an old Mira white 18mm riser rail.
A little clear silicon sealant in the neck of the dish made a perfect fit. The original Mira dish had lasted 20 years. The riser rail and fittings still being in full working condition, just needed a little clean and look as good as new. Certainly not worth swopping for a cheap current plastic replacement. However, after just a few weeks of use, I caught my hand on the soap dish while showering and it cracked! From the front edge to the centre drain slot. A weakness in the design as a perpendicular ridge to the slot on the underside would probably prevent this and give years of use. Disappointing.
