Please help i know this sounds stupid but how do i open this stick?

The part of the package with the Compeed name on one side and a load of text on the other separates from the base about 1cm up from the ridged wheel which is used to propel the stick up the container. When new, it can be quite difficult to separate the two parts of the container so don't be afraid to give it a good firm grip and pull!

Does this work with socks on?

Your question is unclear. IF you mean can you put it onto a blister on your foot, let it dry completely and then put on a sock followed by a shoe, then yes.

Does this dry on the skin and form a seel??

It works like lipssalve. It does not leave a skin like their other product. I swear by this product (and others like it) and use it every time I go out walking (2-3 times a week) after a miserable experience a few years ago which took weeks to heal.
