Is there a weight limit?

Good question. I have checked the instructions came with the bed and found no information about the weight limit. I would like to know it too.

is the chest of drawers movable and can it be placed in another part of room, or is it fixed under bed? Thank you

It's movable. It does not attach. The only thing attached is the desk.

How tall are the bed rails from the platform?

We have an 8 inch mattress with our sons and from his mattress to top of rails is another 5 inches.

Which end is the desk on? In the pictures it looks like it could go on either end, is that so?

The desk and ladder can be on either end and on either side.
