What can I say - normally when something is half the price but performs better than the expensive brand you would say it's too good to be true, but not in this case! We have 4 cats and a toddler so our carpets get well used. Last time we cleaned them with our Vax Platinum using the Vax Platinum shampoo we were disappointed with the results, I'm not sure if the Vax shampoo 'goes off' once opened but it didn't clean particularly well (despite collecting plenty of dirty water) and didn't smell very fresh (I've never been a fan of the smell of the Vax shampoo), it also failed to remove a stale smell from the hall carpet that we couldn't identify (in hindsight I'm wondering if it was actually the Vax shampoo that caused the smell!).Anyway I took a punt on this brand to try and address the smell from the carpet and it did wonders! Not only did it remove the problematic smell and leave a fresh scent throughout the house it made all the carpets look visibly cleaner, despite it only being cleaned with the Vax shampoo the week before. I didn't think to do a before and after of the carpets as I wasn't expecting such a visible improvement over the Vax shampoo, but attached is a picture of the dirty water extracted from the carpet that had been previously cleaned with the Vax shampoo.All in all I'm very impressed with the performance and smell of this shampoo and providing it continues to give the same level of performance now it has been opened I can't see any reason to go back to the expensive Vax shampoo. I can confirm it works perfectly with the Vax Platinum cleaner, giving exactly the same level of foam/mix as the Vax shampoo, and unlike the Vax shampoo it has a pink colour to it which makes it easier to see how much shampoo is left in the mixer and that the machine is mixing it properly. I can also confirm that it did no damage to the machine or the plastic as I've seen reported on some other shampoo brands when used with the Vax machine...

Firstly, the cleaner itself is really good. It cleans better than the standard Rug Doctor cleaner I was using and is good at removing stains. If I had one criticism, it would be that although the initial smell while cleaning the room was really nice and fresh smelling, within 24 hours that smell had completely gone, and I'm not fully convinced that it has neutralised previous odours we had within our hallway carpet. I'd definitely buy this cleaner again, based on its ability to clean well, but I do wish they'd boost the scent and odour neutralising quality further.

All I can say is a very good purchase,.as I buy this quite often ,.so bring for those awkward spilled drink as such,.ps does a good job with broom, on oil spills in the garage ,.

It cleans well and smells nice ,you can tell when you have shampooed the carpet .

Works well in carpet cleaner, good on tough marks but the dilution seems a little off.I’ve used more than suggested as there is little to no scent.

I will never go back to the Vax platinum carpet shampoo, this stuff is brilliant. I have a house full of teenagers that appear to have lost the ability to walk without spilling drinks and a dachshund pup who chooses to come in from the garden and pee on my carpet when I’m not looking. As you can see by the photos my carpet was grim but this stuff is great and my carpet survives another day!
