Amazing and versatile slider, you just have to understand it and it will reward you in awesome videos and pictures!
I purchased the GripGear slider as kind of an early birthday gift to myself. I do a lot of photography while backpacking, hiking and photography in the city. I tend to buy products that have a double use. So, I am good at understating products and their multiple uses and this slider has so many uses.I feel that some people may compare it to the traditional dolly style slider, you shouldn’t do this with this slider, it is made to do multiple things. After my first weekend I had great success and really haven’t run into anything bad yet. Let me break it down in a few categories for the everyone:Product design:Consumer grade but VERY impressed with the design, build quality. Online I read there seems to be a problem with people understating the feet so I will go a bit further to explain. On every major commercial slider, the feet are solid and usually the legs are sturdy bolts which can take time to set up and then you have to level each leg by screwing up or down and checking a bubble level. In the case of this slider the legs are really just "low feet" so it makes it easy to level and you don’t need to use the claws or pull the claws out when sliding horizontal, this means the slider will be quicker to set up, less time is wasted having to level each leg. This is due to the feet is made with rubber nonslip washer/space on the feet bottom making it easy to level the slide. So, you end up with on the fly sliding. In most cases when you use a slider you want to be really low to the ground anyway. This helps with static scenery in the front.Of course, you can attach to tripod to get higher. It is suggested to not use the “claw” legs during every slider use.I think it is more useful to use the Claw leg part of the foot when the slider is not level.. but just on a single end of one foot.It really seemed that the claw legs are more for use when attaching to objects. Say you want to film vertically up a pole then you would really use the claw part of the foot as it would claw around the pole.Another issue I have read is flimsy feet movement from left to right. Unlike bigger sliders this is another great concept that people are mistaking for a problem. When the slider is on the ground horizontally and claws in, the feet can pivot in and out to compensate for hill or uneven area. This is something you will not find on a larger slider and it is awesome. You can have the feet pivot in or out, if you didn’t know this you would assume you need the legs/claws extended on every shot to be straight but the Grip Gear Slider is designed to be versatile. (You can see the feet pivot as I was on a hill in one of my pics with the Canon)Actual use:I used this slider with 3 cameras. I used it with a LG G6 Phone, Canon Vixia / Legria Mini X and a Samsung NX500 with add on zoom lens. The Samsung NX500 was the heaviest and it had no problem sliding up and down vertically or at an angle. I could see a issue if you didn’t tighten the camera head properly but I had no issues with the slider moving a large camera. For most of my shots I used a longboard skateboard as a base, by pivoting the feet inward it had no problem running back and forth level, I never used the claw feet on any of my shotsThe slider was easily broken down and placed in my backpack. I could set it up, level it and have it going in under 3 min with camera attached.I did a manually hand slide at one point and forgot to push back in the blue track plug, it took a min or so until I realized it wasn’t moving due to this but that was a user error, so don’t forget to check that…lolI am planning on buying a larger ¼ screw extension so that I can place the cameras about 2in higher, usually when you add height you bring in shakiness but in this case I am confident 5in or less will not shake the camera on this slider. If you run into any issues, any, there is a reset button and a paperclip in the reset hole will have the dolly back to its new out the box self. I did this once because I didn't understand that there was a actual setting for the bounce back feature and when mine stopped working I shpuld have realized it was user error, I accidentally changed the bounce back setting so I just reset the slider and boom it was just as new.Adaptability:I think it is cool that you can already get so much out of this. For instance the Panohead was something that would have cost big money about 8 years ago and GripGear has included an adapter to make this possible in the kit.You can add extra length by getting extra rails, something other sliders cant do! It looks like GripGear is coming out with a Micro Dolly and possibly suction cups for the feet in the future, I see them in the website videos. So adaptability with this brand is great. They are thinking ahead. For those wanting user tracking I have seen others use attach a Zhiyun Crane or DJI Ronin with object tracking connected to the camera head when flat, this will require running the Gimbles app but this slider requires no app.The Micro dolly would be great for all you foodies out there this will step up your instafood game. The motor that attaches is actually small so it would not take up much space on a table or purse/ bag.Pricing:Let’s start off by comparing automatic motorized sliders for under 150.00. OK, I must admit there are none, you will not find a decent motorized slide for under $310.00 USD, commercial or noncommercial grade. That makes this GripGear slider the most affordable and versatile for that price range. I like mine!

This setup has brought my B Roll game to new heights!
The media could not be loaded. I got this setup (with the optional dolly attachment) to shot b roll (product shots) for my Youtube channel. I use a Sony a6500 with the kit lens to shoot my video and although it is a the top of the weight supported I had no issues with the dolly or the slider as long as I set the speed to 4 or higher. I did have an issue and contacted support and they replied within hours and resolved my issue very quickly. Their customer support is awesome. At $130 I didn't expect the greatest build quality but I gave it 4 (really would be 4.5 if I could give half stars) stars because it seems a little bit brittle you will have to be careful with it. Overall though this is an amazing product for the price.

Don't buy
The media could not be loaded. This slider is not meant to be used with mirror-less cameras. The footage is unstable ans shaky and can't be used professionally. Even with a smart phone I notices some jittery movement during the video, so I'm not really sure what it's good for if it can't hold a smart phone steadily. And by the way it's not a problem with the unit I received. The ball head included which you have to use because it's the only one that fits into the slider, is too flimsy and fragile and really can't hold and thing steadily. Don't waste your money.

I really wanted this to work for me...
There are so many good things about GripGear's Movie Maker 2 Set that I just had to take the plunge and purchase it despite some of the problems identified by various youtube reviews. Unfortunately, I have to agree with many of their points and eventually, had to admit that some are showstoppers for me.First, I want to state what is good about the Movie Maker 2 Set:-- Low cost, comparatively. While there are other sliders that are in the same price range, those don't have the same versatility and portability. The motor can be used by itself to get 360 panorama shots and the track can be broken down and easily fit in a backpack. Additional lengths of track can also be purchased separately at a low cost. No other product on Amazon does all of this and would require separate purchases.-- Remote control. While we expect remotes for almost everything electronics these days, I was surprised by the fact that many sliders/panorama motors do not come with one.-- Versatility. Already mentioned previously, but I really want to emphasize that this is a unique feature of this product. In addition to the points already listed, the Movie Maker 2 set can also be used verticallyNegatives:-- Top speed too slow: I'm in agreement with many youtube reviews that the highest speed is still not fast enough for some shots. This is why you will see many videos shot with this movie maker set sped up, making all of the videos look like timelapses.-- Lowest speed too fast: When doing actual timelapse over two or three hours, the resulting video pans too fast. So while your timelapse subject is moving at the right speed, the camera movement is just too fast, making it uncomfortable to watch.-- Weak 1/4" camera mount. The motor is made very specifically for the camera mount that was included with the set. Unfortunately, if your camera is not balanced or front heavy, it is difficult to get the tilt head to stay put without some grunt work turning the tightening screw.I'm not a professional cinematographer so I thought my requirements would not be very strict, but not being able to get the shots I wanted due to the speed limitations makes me feel like this set is ALMOST what I wanted but it's just not there yet. I hope that the manufacturer can improve this product a little more and bring it across the finish line.

Worst kind of slider ever used

The media could not be loaded. Il video allegato evidenzia il risultato disastroso dell'accoppiamento fra grip gear e Iphone 7. Stesso risultato con altro smartphone. Ho disabilitato wifi-bluetooth-dati cellulare e ho riprovato : niente.
