Ilyas & Duck - Ramadan Joy! Hardcover – January 1, 2018

I love the entire series of Ilyas and Duck! the illustration is fantastic and the story addition to the Ramadan one (kinda like the grinch except that this bad guy doesn’t turn good at the end, which is more realistic) made the Ramadan story super exciting and cool! my 5 and 7 year old read it over and over to each other :))

My 2 year old loves this book... not for the right reasons however. His favorite character is "Mister Mean". Part of me wishes they didn't make the villain character look so cool but every night during Ramadan he wanted to read this book so I'm not complaining.I like this much better than the Ilyas & Duck Eid ul Fitr book. If you're deciding between the two then I would go with this one.

Soooo cute!! Would recommend the whole ilyaas and duck series to anyone. They are amazing!! Please do yourself and kids a favor and buy them all. There are no better Muslim children’s books on the market

My kids have been waiting forever for a new Ilyas & Duck book, and it's finally here! As always, they enjoyed Duck's theatrics - and got a basic intro to the concept of Ramadan.

It’s colorful and inviting for kids.

We have loved all of the books in the series, but we were disappointed by this one. The other ones have all been lighthearted and humorous. This book, however, uses a character called Mr. Mean to highlight the important lessons of Ramadan. It would have been nice to teach kids about Ramadan through perhaps an adventure that Ilyas and Duck go on rather than bringing in a mischievous figure. Understandably, there are challenges that people face when trying to fast and do good deeds during this month, but I don’t think this needed to be conveyed through an evil figure. Also, nowhere in the photos of the book or description was this plot line mentioned. It would be important to include so future buyers can be aware of the narrative and make a decision to purchase or not based on that. This is a great series overall, and I am looking forward to seeing additional books that will be published in the future!
