what's the handle made of? will it melt if resting on the side of a hot skillet?

It is a rubbery substance. I have left it resting on the handle of my cast iron pan and it has not melted, however, it does have a few minor melt like marks on the handle. We just love this turner. It is just the handiest!

Does it bend? the one i received bent almost the first time i used it. don't think it's supposed to as my large one doesn't

I've had mine for a few years now and we use it all the time. Mine hasn't bent, its every durable and I would buy another one.
