We have used this same carburetor on our work horse, 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 400 for the past 10 years. We use it to feed our horses so we run the quad at low speeds, heavy loads, lots of stopping & starting and more dirt than you can imagine. This item has performed excellently. The last one we installed lasted 4 years with intense daily use.The addition of the fuel & air filter makes this a great value. You'll serve yourself well to get this item...it will keep you running whether it's for work or play.

This was for my 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 400 2wd. Pretty easy to switch out just pay attention as you take the old one off. Put it on and she started right up.. Just had to adjust the idle. Great price!

I was so skeptical about buying this carb.. oil filter is cheap fabric nothing special there. Air filter a little better.. the carb is worth it though. YFM400 big bear and woke this old girl back up. Only thing I added from old carb to new carb was the heater component. 10mm comes right off and on the new. Put fuel to it, fired right up and made minor idle adjustments. WOT called for more air with the new carb so made a few changes and that was it. Bottom line.. this was a good purchase. The reviews are what helped me decide on it so I figured I give mine.

This carburetor fit perfectly into my 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 400. My machine started up fine. I'm no expert but I think it came with the wrong size jet because it backfires upon acceleration and plug is black, telling me it's running too rich (I believe). I was hoping to pop this carburetor in with no problems. I'm sure there is a chance something besides the carb is the problem.

Was a little skeptical based on the price, but it was cheaper to but this then a rebuild kit for the original. Showed up quick, easy to install, and only slight idle adjustment and the 4 wheeler has ran great since. I put this on a Yamaha Bruin 250, matched the factory carb perfectly.

Easy to install but dosent run right. Put this on a big bear 400 atv. Started up good and idled good but when you try to go in a higher gear the carburetor would spit and sputter and there is no way to tune. Steer clear of this terrible product!!!!!

I bought a Yamaha Big Bear that was sitting for a long time with the fuel gauge missing, leaving a large hole on the top of the fuel tank. Knowing I would have fuel problems, I cleaned the carb and installed a new fuel gauge. That worked for a almost a year, and the carb needed cleaning again. After a thorough clean, still no fuel delivery. I took a chance on this low cost option. I replaced the jets with what I took out of the old carb just because I knew my motor ran great jetted with them. After putting the "old" jets in the new carb, I bolted it up. It took a minute, but it fired up and ran great!. I adjusted the low speed to +/- 1 3/4 turns out to get rid of a small hiccup at idle. I have been running it for a few weeks now, and it is still running great. If you have the mechanical ability to get the jets right, I highly recommend this carb. Also, as an added bonus, my choke works properly now! It had never worked up until I installed this carb.
