Stout, Strong and Sharp!
I love this. The seller represented it well and accurately. I wish it came with a sheath of some type as the screw-tip end is very sharp. It does come in a hard cardboard tube sufficient for mailing and serves as a sleeve. I went to my local bamboo stand and cut out a large section I could drop the entire sleeve into. Then another piece that served as a cap. It works really well!

If you are looking for a old style auger this is it ! Great quality .
High quality product , very sharp , welds decent , machining is good . one thing I noticed about this auger compared to others I've used is that the flutes are machined into the shank rather than the flutes just being twisted to form the bit . this makes it much stronger and less likely to flex/break than the twisted flute style . my only complaint is the shortness , once you get close to the work you can't even get to the full length of the bit in the work because you will grind your knuckles off trying ... Manufacture should consider adding another 3-5" of shank between the bit and the eye . otherwise a good product , shipped fast

Next level bushcraft
If you are serious about bushcraft and you wanna take it to the next level. A scotch eyed auger is a great way to do it. It opens up so many possibilities for camping/bushcraft and long term survival situations. This can be used for making, rocket stoves, furniture, saw horses, eating utensils etc. Use your imagination and the sky is the limit. There’s a lot of sub par scotch eyed augers out there. Too small and made from inferior materials. This thing is BEEFY and made to last forever. Worth every penny! It bores a nice big clean hole in green or dry wood and it requires very little effort. Buy this thing! It’s definitely worth it.

Helpful Tool
Received the auger. Is a solid product, though a bit less than perfect in finish (some rough spots on eye, grind on drill point not straight). Little short if you're looking to go through some stout logs. Would suggest they have option to buy a longer bit. Made a quick stool and it worked well to auger through dry ash. Also augered through dry maple with no problem. Had to work harder to auger holes in maple that had some dry rot/soft spots (lead screw would not hold so I had to push hard to get auger to bite). I will be getting more of these.

Nice little auger bit
I really like this little bit. It needed some finishing out of the box, but not much. And it comes with a tube that makes a handy storage container if you can make it work. I had a few things laying around to put together a little kit of sorts. It turns out my tinder stick makes a nearly perfect handle, so I probably won't be using it to start fires as much as I do making holes. The tube the bit comes with was easy to find a rubber endcap for, and I wrapped it in paracord to make it look nicer. I had an old belt attachment strip from a wallet chain and turned it into a latch to hold the bit in place. It also allows me to hang the bit from my pack or from a small tree branch.

Blackraven bushcraft auger
So awesome! When I first seen one on youtube with Bertram - Craft and Wilderness I had to have one and make something! Took forever to figure out what it was. Lol. Then when I found it...it took a while to buy one. Slowly using manual tools and very little power tools. Trying to slow down an appreciate the hard work the people of the past did. Great company and product. Works frign awesome. Making a pouch for it and my gimlet. I'm glad I bought one from a small family owned business. The little things.

A little short but amazing quality
Start with the bad news and I’ll finish with the great news. It’s short, not really great for what I bought it for. I bought it to make dowel holes for log cabin joints. Trying to do the cabin in older techniques. The great news, this son of a bitch is razor sharp and very high quality. Made the holes very easy with minimal effort. After 8 smaller log joints, aside from some fat wood making it stick a little this thing is still super sharp. I wish it was about 4 inches longer but the build quality is absolutely exceptional. 5 star rating because it’s worth that rating. Great shipping time and feels great in use.

Good-bye bit brace, hello augur!
After accidentally yanking the head off of my Stanley bit brace, I bought the 1" auger bit. If the move from an electric drill to a bit brace was satisfying, maybe taking the next step to an auger bit would be too. Well, after whittling a handle from a segment of 2x2 and auguring a test hole through a 2x4, I'm glad the bit brace broke. This auger is sturdier and more portable than a bit brace, and it has no moving parts to break! Good 1" holes are now comfortably part of my electricity-free repertoire. Thanks Black Raven!
