Perfect mix of sound & convenience
I was looking for a set of headphones that not only sounded great, but also gave me the option to be wireless when around the house doing chores, reading, or laying around. After doing a lot of research online, I got these b/c they fit my budget and I know Grado is known for great sound for the money. I couldn't be more satisfied; they sound amazing wired and really good wireless. The sound is balanced with excellent mids, solid bass, clarity, and a big sound stage. Over bluetooth I'd say the quality goes from a 10 to a 7, still excellent. Battery life is awesome. It's advertised for 40hrs, and I've been using them every day for a week and I'm somehow still at eighty percent. I also appreciate that Grado quietly upgraded the USB connection to USB-C for charging, and the bluetooth to bluetooth 5 so the connection is much better. However, they are open-back so no noise canceling. I wouldn't travel with these, but I have good ear buds for that. Sound leakage isn't too bad either unless I'm listening to rock / hip hop and crank the volume. With jazz or acoustic stuff it's barely an issue. If you're looking for high quality sound with the option for wireless, I highly recommend them.

Great sound, comfort, mediocre Bluetooth implementation
As a long time Grado owner / fan needing a new hands-free calling earpiece, I was excited when I read that Grado had released a wirelessPROS:Just what you'd expect from Grado sound-wise - Detailed, smooth highs, clear, forward midrange, smooth, balanced bass. Flat, balanced frequency response. You can listen for hours without fatigue. Extremely comfortable for an on-ear headset. Sound-bleed will only be an issue at ear-bleed volume unless you are within inches of another person in a quiet environment. Wired listening experience is sublime with good recordings at high-bit-rates, even on a crappy Iphone internal DAC. Headphones are also extremely light. Nicely done.Hands free calling is super clear and comfortable due to Grado's open design - no weird muffled sound of your own speaking voice in your head or uncertain volume level like with closed cans. Absolutely perfect for hand's free calling - with the BT exceptions noted below.Ignore what everyone says about the lack of sound isolation provided by these cans. Just crank up the volume to drown out that bad Christmas music while you are out dildo shopping for your sister-in-law this holiday season. I bike and skate with them, and the allow some sonic awareness of your environment, and have zero wind noise - unlike every in-ear headset I've ever used - because of the foam ear-pads.CONS:Build quality feels Fisher-Price toy-like. Bluetooth implementation is almost comically bad - from the loose cheesy buttons that rattle around as you (attempt) to feel and press them, to their awkward placement that makes hitting the wrong buttons repeatedly an absolute certainty. Especially when taking them on or off. Or simply adjusting them.Put your phone in your left front pocket (the side the BT works are in on the headset), and marvel at how turning your head 90 degrees to the left causes BT to cut-out. Move the phone to your rear left pocket, and the same thing happens with a right head turn. Do not put the phone in your right pocket under any circumstances unless you hate the music you listen to. BT audio quality is high for BT, but there is a noticeable improvement when listening hardwired in a quiet environment over it. BT seems to emphasize the bass as well, which may or may not be to your liking. Out and about you probably won't notice the difference, but for critical listening, tether the cans to your phone amp or DAC, and you'll get Grado 300 series audiophile type performance, meaning "world class", which is amazing given the build quality. My cheeeeeap Jawbone BT earpiece NEVER cuts out, so c'mon Grado! You have a big metal headband to work with. Give BT some love and put an omnidirectional antenna up there! Bonus points for refitting with haptic soft-touch buttons that don't rattle, and adding the ability to skip/advance/repeat tracks. The charging port is also one of those mirco USB deals that is small and difficult to properly align, and easily damaged. Use care when connecting and disconnecting it.The final annoyance is how the cans will only lay-flat with the earpads facing UP. This means the hard plastic earcups rest on your collar-bone which is uncomfortable. If you reverse the cans left to right, the problem goes away, but now the BT controls are on the right, and extremely awkward to access. Not sure if this is a defect on my set, or intentional, but if it's intentional, Grado is missing an advertising opportunity by flipping them like this.I'm on the fence about keeping them, but probably will because of their incredible sound and comfort. The BT implementation is a bummer, but not quite a deal breaker for me. Cheap build quality is a little disappointing, but again, not a deal breaker. To summarize: Fix the Bluetooth issues and go with better materials - like maybe real leather (or good fake stuff) for the headband and metal, wood, or carbon-fiber for the ear-cups, and these would be a home run. I would gladly pay another $20 or $30 for that sort of improvement - more if Grado stepped things up to the reference series level of (wired) sonic performance

Very amazing headphones
I own a few different headphones. I own Bang &Olufsen shown in upper right corner $500, Denon bottom left corner uses cords $1000, Audeze LCD3 (not shown) $3000 with amplifier needed to power them. The Grado is bottom right corner of course $249.With all this being said, I am very impressed with such an inexpensive headphone. The sound quality is perfect, super light weight and...I can hear so much detail of things you wouldn’t normally hear on other headphones. I am very happy with this purchase and regret nothing about them. They are truly amazing. Now they are priced for the average person to afford. These phones allow a person that is poor to own high sound quality phones. They do seem flimsy and fragile with lots of plastic. They are light as a feather and you won’t even notice them on your head. You could wear these all day and your ears won’t hurt. I can’t say that about my more “expensive” headphones. Another drawback is when I took them off too fast the foam earcup came off. That was kinda weird. I put it back on.To conclude....these phones are one of the best. I don’t care how inexpensive they are. Grado could have spent more on fancy styling and etc and charged $700, $1000 and etc. To me it’s all about the perfect sound quality and these phones have it.Update..., the $249 Grado kills the $600 Bang & Olufsen. The B&O is all about style, expensive look and etc. Thr Grado sounds reference almost. And when plugged into a Dragonfly USB D/A plays super loud and clear. The Grado almost or even compares to my $1000 Denon cord phones.

Review For Grado Users
Packaging is the usual minimalist approach.Grado users know that they can sometimes feel a bit...well...plasticky. The argument is that all your money gets spent on the bits that make the sound rather than the bits that make it look pretty. They do have a nice retro look though. These feel usual Grado standard, probably a bit better than their average, but they were never going to feel premium. More like a better version of the 80s but not as good as the 325s. On the plus side there is no Grado cable to kink and the cans have two positions which is parallel to your ears or flat for storage...so no more trying to figure out which way the cable wants them to go.Charging is fine over USB C (cable included) and they are on blue tooth 5 so range or bandwidth is there depending on what you are doing. They are nice and light and comfortable in use. On power up and pairing you get a low-ish quality voice telling you what you have just done. Mic is okay for calls or web chat...but only ok. It'll do the job without excelling.Onto the sound...These don't sound like a wired pair of Grados. I would say that they are not as good as the wired Grado acoustic signature. The bass is heavier than usual and mids a bit lighter but highs are nicely defined so overall...best bluetooth headphones/buds by a long way. If you have only used cheaper headphones in the past and suddenly tried these you are going to be in for a treat when you hear what your music can sound like. Whilst these are not as good as wired Grado cans, they are still Grado and that combined with wireless and a reasonable price make them winners.
