Best IEM under $100 with detachable cables
These are a pair of amazing in-ear-monitor at any price. What help me made the jump was the detachable cable feature. This is extremely important when you do a lot of commuting. Usually, my past headphones’ cables break within a year. I know there are stores that can fix them for $90, but I cannot justify the cost or time. With these you can get a pair of replacement chords for $15 and click them on if it breaks. Not a serious audiophile, but I have owned Hifiman re262, Vsonic gr07, AKG Q701, Sennheiser Momentum, and auditioned my friends’s Sennheiser HD600 HD800 Shure 1840, so I think I know what I am saying. In terms of sound, I would rate them at 8.7/10. These were tuned to emulate Westone W4r ($499, Mercedes S class of universal in-ear-monitors). I have auditioned those. These certainly are not in the same league but it has a warm, full-body sound signature that most people would find enjoyoyable. The bass is fast, tight, but kindda weak at this time (only 20hr burn-in time). Look elsewhere if you are a basshead. The mids are slightly warmer and forward than neutral. The trembles are slightly rolled off and artifical sounding. In a nutshell, these are the best IEMs under $100 in my opinion. The Vsonic GR07 at $99 is better sounding but don’t have detachable cables (just broke a pair). Another choice is Hifiman re400, neutral and accurate but a bit boring sounding.Hope my experience helps.PS. The 3DS has the same 3D box, you see an s on the earbuds. I have heard about cable problems on head-fi forum, so far so good and won’t be a problem to replace.Cheers

Ok earphones. Can't really hear the bass and the connection between the cord and earbuds feels loose. It keeps making fuzzy sounds.
