Hate giving this 5 stars becasue they caught a bird. But they are absolutely effective and kill anything that comes into contact with them, be mindful where you place them.TERMINIX PEST CONTESTHired Terminix to help with the roof rats and thought i'd compare my efforts to thiers.These were used in the same area with the victor wooden mouse traps with the professional bait applied by terminix. These traps were set using only JIF smooth peanut butter. I caught 3, the wooden traps from terminix injured 5 and caught zero.... I believe this is due to the use of the wooden traps and not these heavy duty plastic ones. I had zero snapped traps that were empty. It appeared there was zero suffering that occured no clawing or scrapping vs the wooden ones that they got injured by and escaped. The terminix service I paid for ultimately was awesome and helped me close up a very tough to get to area with a very constructive idea that i would have never thought of on my own. Truthfully. So no shade thrown towards them just putting up a thorough review to let you know BUY THESE, THEY WORK. Oh yeah and they are reuseable, simply snap it back and your ready to go!!

These traps are well built and the mechanism holds up. However, the spring is not strong enough to kill and hold the rodent. They will be stunned after the hit and then escape from the kill bar. Run away and never come close to the trap again. Or may run away and expire somewhere else.

These traps are great for a couple snaps. They have strong springs and result in humane kills. After a couple of uses, however, their triggers wear and either won't stay set (self-snap immediately after setting) or won't be triggered when the trigger is depressed. If you only need to use a rat trap once in a blue moon, these are very easy to use and are quite effective. If you will need to reuse the traps more than once or twice, look for another option.
