Very Pleasantly surprised, but see my update
UPDATE- 6/2/18—MY REVIEW IS FOR THE BETTER OLD BOARD. This amp has changed so make sure you know which version you're getting. The newer version is slightly larger and the internals are not as good. I stand by my original review on the model I received, but it only applies to that version.Original Review -I had to get a smaller amp due space constraints and because I got a bigger sub amp and had to rearrange everything. I also needed something more efficient on my electrical to offset the bigger sub amp. I wasn't happy about switching from an A/B class amp to a D class. I'm so happy my fears were unwarranted. Sonically, this amp is great. I'm using older but still awesome Boston Acoustic components and this 900.4 amp brings out more detail than my previous amp. Its smaller and puts out more power.CONS: a couple of nit picks- if you thought Rockford spaced out their crossover numbers too much making it difficult to know what cutoff frequency you were selecting, Soundstream gives you even less. They give you starting and ending frequency and NOTHING in between. Not even a halfway mark. The speaker terminals are oddly arranged. Instead of upper row being front L and R and lower being rear R and L- upper row is negative, lower row is positive making you have to cut positive wires slightly shorter. And for some reason when looking at the amp to connect speaker wires, the left speaker out is on the right side and the right is on the left. Finally, all the power and speaker labels are on top of the connections. The problem with that is if you open up all the screws they cover the symbols. I like to triple check my power and grounds right before I insert them. Sucks to have to close the screw to see whats what and then reopen it again to insert wire.So other than those gripes which have nothing to do with actual performance, this is a great amp. Of course longevity has yet to he determined. One last thing and this is directed at Amazon. You sent me this package in the original manufacturers box. Not packaged, and no tape even holding it closed. Not only was the box starting to open, but it lay there for the world to see exactly what it was (luckily they didn't take it). But the worst part is that it was marked as being "handed directly to a resident ". My dog is smart, but she hasn't mastered unlocking the deadbolt and opening the door. And if your carrier thinks my front doorstep is a resident, please do not let them drive for you until they have an immediate eye exam.

worked for about 5 minutes
Received amp and it looked great. The 1st one received didn’t have outputs on CH3&4 and there’s no selector switch to switch from 2ch to 4ch. Painless return from seller. Received 2nd one and same procedure as the first tuned with Steve Meade distortion detector and 80Hz set on crossover. Worked fine for about 5 minutes then started getting a whine noise through speakers with the vehicle off. Checked every connection again and still same thing tested the vehicle with another amp and there was no issue. Put this 4ch amp from the vehicle I took the test amp from and the issue followed it to the other vehicle. From what I read on reviews it’s happened to other customers shame as I’ve used soundstream before and had no issues but guessing they’re using cheap materials now. Seller was great to work with on exchange and sending another unit.

You really can spend more..but how much gold plating do you really need?!
I love this thing..because I only need 600 watts, which is about what it's actually giving on throughput. I'm running Infinity Kappas all around, 2 6x9's in front, 5 1/2's in back and this is pushing them perfectly. And Kappa 6x9's are HAPPY with about 200 RMS, the 5 1/2's with about 100 each. I'm getting no distortion at high levels and the head unit set at 0 (on a scale of 4), at 4 ohms. The sound is dramatic and CLEAN. But don't think this will run 4 plus a sub...you COULD play with parallel and series wiring, but you need an audiohead, not a computer geek for the ins and outs. This amp has everything you need to take any system to the next level (gain, LPF, HPF, etc.). What I can't speak to is the longevity, but from experience this is putting out plenty of juice and NOT getting hot doing it...and NOT getting hot means efficient power delivery and that's what makes components last longer. To add some perspective here, I've competed in IASCA events with Radio Shack Realistic speakers and walked away with sound pressure level wins, hence I know power...but I've also blown a Boston Acoustics crossover so badly it sounded like God snapping his fingers when it grenaded. This amp is clean, not expensive and pushes some higher end power hungry speakers just beautifully.

This looks great and it sound pretty good
This looks great and it sound pretty good, but absolutely worth the price. I had an issue with the matching mono amp and decided because of that I wouldn't use this brand.

I was looking at much higher priced amps but was told to look at this one first and I'm glad I did
I've had this thing mounted in the tour pack of my Harley all summer long and it's proven to be a beast.. plenty of power to crank my 4 six by nines and make them thump.. I was looking at much higher priced amps but was told to look at this one first and I'm glad I did.. I definitely didn't want to go with anything cheap because it's my Harley and I wanted it to sound good.. But for the price and the reviews on this thing I thought I'd give this one a try because I could always return it.. this thing does not run hot at all and it barely takes up any room in my Tour pack.. I also used a Clarion eqs746 7 band equalizer and let me tell you my bike really pounds... I would definitely recommend this amp..UPDATE!! Well this amp has performed so well and I went a little crazy and added a second one plus two more 6 x 9s.. I've been cranking the piss out of this system all summer long with no issues whatsoever..
