Converting virtually unlimited supply of solar power to much needed battery juice for your mobile devices such as an iPhone, iPad and many, many more USB portable devices while you are on the go or there is a power outage or disaster strikes, the Instapark Mercury 10 is a light and compact USB solar charging system that easily fits in your purse, messenger bag or backpack. It combines three solar panels totaling 10 watts and folds up into a pack about the same size as a hardcover book, but only thinner and lighter. Great Little Solar Panel!
I really highly recommend this solar panel by Instapark. It is simply amazing to watch this panel charge up my 5200mah to 6000mah rechargeable power pack batteries As fast as it does. This Solar Panel has got to be maxing out really close to its 2 amp potential as is stated in the product info section. As the above reviewer mentioned, I too simply can't understand how it is possible that only two people ( as of now ) have reviewed this item.I have been shopping around for really high quality and well priced solar panels for almost six months now. I have a 12 watt panel, very well made, totally up to new tech standards, and I really think just from observation that this 10 watt panel is putting out a good amount more then the 12 watt, 5volt model I purchased. And these panels are half the size of that one. They take up no room at all. This is a really great buy! I love this panel and already have bought myself a second one. Right afterwards they raised the price about ten per cent! LOL!!It also keeps charging even when the clouds move in, although I can't say at what precise output levels since I don't own a micro volt meter measuring thing.I bought both of my 10 watt as kits with Instapark batteries. The 5600 mah one, is working fine. And it is the least expensive of the two offered. I also bought the panel along with the series 1800 I believe, it is the one that is rated at 5200mah, and it totally burnt out last night when I went to use it for the first time with my IPhone 4. I was kind've disappointed! So the panel is beyond great. ya gotta get one for yourself to see its high end performance. But I do not know about instaparks batteries. I had to return a much larger one that also was brand new but was already acting up. If I mixing up battery info with the panel review it is only because they offer this panel alone and also with the two different battery kits. But putting that aside, the panel even looks great, comes with a well designed foldable system that reduces it to a very small and cool looking paperback book sized black kit with a separate well designed compartment where you can store your battery or evn your phone and has this wonderful Velcro closed pouch cover. So the whole kit will fit in any small to medium shoulder bag, knapsack, or even a large coat pocket. I will update my review since I bought these a month ago and am curious to see how long they maintain their outstanding performance. They work so well, that if they bring their prices back down that ten percent I am going to be getting a third one.

Simply put: It works
I bought this solar panel charger as a replacement to another product (EZO) that I returned for a full refund. This unit works flawlessly while in the High Sierra Mountains for 10 days! I was able to plugin my Samsung S3 directly and able to recharge it, from 34% phone batter power to 100% in overcast conditions in 5 hours. I left the unit out whilst covering up my phone and went about my camp chores for the day. I also used this unit to charge my 'EasyAcc 12000mAh External Battery' to keep power at hand for truly cloudy and rainy days. This unit works very well in overcast conditions, delivering a charge even when in the (bright) shade. I would expect charging time to increase, YMMV.The combo worked flawlessly. The Instapark unit folds up small and flat, has plenty of loops to hang it from a tree, backpack etc. I did not take it on hikes but it feels light enough to bring along. As I mentioned in another review, a minimalist backpacker would probably not choose to bring this unit along. For our purposes, it was the perfect power backup and charging platform. For those interested in charging a Kindle Fire, I plugged in my kids Kindle Fire and the charge light and charging icon display. It is my guess that the Kindle Fire can be charged.

Took this backpacking, worked great
We decided it was lighter to take 1 iPad & 1 iPhone backpacking, rather than several books, gps device and a music player - as they could provide gps, and all the reading material and music we could want. So we bought this, hoping it would be sufficient for the both of them. Happy to say, it worked great. And it's very compact and light, about the size of a Reader's Digest or a TV Guide (remember those days?). Even comes with a little pocket to store your cables in.The iPhone had no problems at all, got up over 50% in 2 hours. Regarding the iPad, we followed the advice from the posted video by jjceo - namely, we let the panels heat up in the sun for about 15 minutes before connecting the iPad. If we connected it before giving it time to warm up, we got that "incompatible" warning. We just disconnected it, waited a few minutes to warm futher, and then reconnected it. It charged about 50% higher in about 3 hours. Strangely, sometimes we got the "incompatible" warning, even though it was still charging the iPad successfully. It was easier than we thought, to hide the devices in the shade while charging - we just placed the solar panel on a boulder or log, and then placed the devices in the shade created behind them. One thing - we never tried charging both devices at the same time - although it has the capability to connect both of them, we didn't think it pactical to divide up the charging power. All in all, we are very happy with this, and will be taking it on all future backpacking and camping trips.

Solid buy. Good quality.
Know what you are getting and how USB devices charge. If you have solid, uninterrupted sun then this works fantastic. It will charge at 2 amps which means any phone or tablet as good as if it were plunged into a wall. Not all of us can use this in full uninterrupted sun, devices will stop charging even if the sun comes back if voltage dips. The work around is to change a power bank that is unaffected by voltage dips. Phones/tablets don't like low voltage and stop charging when it happens.

Works like a charm
Works like a charm. Also with a not too much sun due to clouds, it still performs well.Even charges my Sony e-reader, which has a reputation of being very selective as it comes to chargers.

High quality and plenty of power
Worked great on a back-country ski trip in the rockies. Using behind a dirty window in a cold cabin on grey days, I still got more power in a couple hours than I needed to recharge a battery that then recharged my iPhone 6 at night. So other folks used it for their devices too. Construction seems high quality and quite durable. No problems at all with charging stopping during times of shadow, etc. which I have heard about with other portable PV systems.

Brilliant when you have no other options for charging items
I'm really happy to have this solar charger. I used it for ten days of camping and was able to keep my phone, mp3 and kindle charged despite the fact that the weather was overcast most of the time. I was even able to get some charge from inside the tent. Good for drizzly days! Of course, charging is much faster in bright sunlight, but it's great that you can get some charge even when it's grey. I did intend to start using it at home as an alternative to using mains power, but I have to admit I put it in the drawer and forgot about it until now.
