I have dark brown/black hair with lots of gray. I originally used 4-99 and it was so light on my gray that it looked like two different colors, dark hair, and really purple hair where I had gray. I tried the 6-99 and the color is much better for dark hair. I really like that in most lighting it looks dark brown/black but in lighted areas you can see the purple highlights. Really recommend this. One picture shows what it looks like in low lighting and the other picture is how it looks in brighter light.

A long time ago, I was a professional colorist. At the time I used an Italian line "Framesi" (professional). Schwarzkopf is its' German top-notch professional counterpart". I used this 4-99 Medium Brown Violet 1/4 mixed with 4-00 Neutral Light Brown 3/4. It came out a very pretty light-to slightly light-medium brown on my quite dark brown hair. I now have 50% grey hair. The bit of 1/4 of the Violet did not create a "Violet-cast" on my grey hair. It just created a prettier light brown. I'm elated to be able to buy this product so conveniently.

Nice color

Color is maintained for at least three months and when it does begin to fade , it's a more purple undertone than red . Just wish the supplier was in the USA
