After 67 years, even with Rx eye glasses, I could not read the small print directions and specifications on a 10-ounce tube of GE Silicone caulking for a home project.The 4x power magnification combined with 10 LED perimeter lights made the task really easy to read. I bought this for my elderly mother to help her read the thermostat, but unfortunately, the magnification wasn’t strong enough for that specific use. It’s a nice, wide lens and might work well for reading books or labels, just not for very small print.

This magnifier is everything it is advertised to be and more! I bought a similar magnifier previously and found that although the size was great, the glass was warped and I realized it would be really helpful to have a light as well. This new, lighted, magnifier is well made and the glass is perfect. The magnification works well for what I need and the light that is powered by 3 AAA batteries has 2 settings which is really nice. The on/off switch is very conveniently located on the under side of the handle where it can be easily reached with your thumb. This thing is fantastic! It's light weight and has a great handle. Who knew you could get so excited about a magnifying glass! As a bonus, there's a special cloth to clean it with and a bag to store it in. For literally just a couple bucks more, I scored BiG TiMe with this product!!

I was a little concerned by the many reviews complaining about distortion when I was considering buying this. I am glad I selected it anyway. It's very nice. Well packaged, sturdily made and gives very good enlargement of small print. The website tells you to hold it at least 2-3 inches above the print, and when you hold it a little farther away (4-6 inches) the print becomes even larger. It is clear edge to edge. The only time I've noticed the print curving on the edge a little is when the paper you are looking at is curved (such as a page as it comes out of the spine of a book). That is not the fault of the magnifying glass. I am very happy with it.

I've had this for awile now and still works great. Would buy again
