The people of Lawndale just don't get Daria Morgendorffer. She's cool with that. See, Daria was born alienated, and now she's just trying to make it through high school with as little human contact as possible. Popularity, friends, activities... whatever. Daria lacks enthusiasm, but she makes up for it with sarcasm. Includes all five seasons plus both movies!

Complete Daria Box Set Review
This was certainly a worthwhile purchase. It says complete box set and it certainly is, containing all five seasons, both movies and a massive load of extras. It did not disappoint whatsoever in terms of content. The show takes characters on the outside of society (High School in particular), and makes them both funny and human, managing to relate to a substantial amount of people I know. The show has phenomenally good use of sarcasm and dead pan humor. It suits me down to the ground. If I had a complaint to make it would be in the packaging design. The discs are stuck in position with tight positions and not an easy to use button in the center. This unfortunately is very difficult to use at first, and makes you feel as if you're going to break the disc. Thankfully that didn't happen in my case. This packaging design is certainly something I hope will phase out soon. Also; there is no list of episodes on the discs, they each have a brief caption of what episodes they have, but a full list complete with titles would be a great help to anyone such as myself who hasn't been able to memorize much of the series.I realize my negative paragraph on the packaging is bigger than the positive paragraph on the content. This is because my feelings about the show can be easily summarized, whereas the foul packaging sent me on a rant. Regardless of the packaging I would highly recommend this box set to any fan of Daria, South Park, or any fan of animated comedy.10 out of 10 for the set, 2 out of 10 for the box.

awesome animation!, weird boxset arrangement?
One of the best animations ever and so happy i finally own it after being unable to find it for so many years, it's a great DVD set and it's region 2, which is amazing! The only weird thing is the actual box set its self, this is hard to explain so please bare with me but the depth of the boxset is about 2 DVDs (one on top of the other) and they (MTV i assume) have cramped 8 discs in this space. Basically on trying to get the discs out, i felt like i was going to snap it because it is not a simple click and release DVD case, like normal DVD cases. After a bit of a play i got the DVD's out, but like a say just a weird case compared to most, if not all of my other boxsets.Oh and the DVD content could of been laid out differently. i mean if the box set was deeper the DVD's would be easier to get in/out and the content could be spread over 9 or 10 discs.other than that rant - daria FTW

A classic which should be shown to teenagers of today
Childhood revisited. When this show was on in the Late 1990's, I never caught them all for various reasons so as an adult I wanted to watch them all and I am glad to say that it is one of the best boxset I have ever watched. The dark sarcasm, the lack of humor, how human beings actually are, that monotone voice, the subtly that you may have missed as a teenager but fully understand as an adult, this series took anti-social behaviour and made it human which is why it is on so many people's favourite list, the creators are not trying to sugar coat anything because they know that teenagers can handle being told the truth, the show treated their younger viewers like intelligent people instead of dumbing everything down for mass market appeal.Daria is not just another animated show, it is something unique that will never happen again in the 21st century corporate censored world.A masterpiece!Only compliant, The US region 1 version only £13 whilst the European version is £50 including shipping, £37 pounds more for a different format is crazy, use your PC to watch it or unlock your DVD player to region 0 (plays all discs).

Great programme, perfectly average DVD package
Daria is easily one of the best things to come from MTV, representative, insightful and hilarious. But you knew that. The DVD package was a long, long time coming, and you've been trawling youtube for clips the whole time. This boxset contains every episode of every season, both movies and host of interviews. Look Back in Annoyance has been omitted, and so have some of the bumpers. Some of the episodes seem to be the edited versions, as shown on The N channel, so some of the more colourful gags are missing. It's a shame, but you've still got 26 and a half hours of Daria. The music: some of the less famous incidental songs in the first season haven't been cut, but for the most part generic guitar riffs. The credits all play the "Standing on my Neck" theme song. It may slightly detract from your nostalgic memories. The cover art and animated menus are quite glossy, but it's a pity there's no subtitles or episode guide. The box itself is delicate - the size of a VHS, it's one of those ones with the little plastic "pages", and they break easily. Enclosed is a note from Glen Eichler, saying "get over the music and enjoy the show". A little passive aggressive, but okay.Overall, the show itself is still as funny and relevant now as was in 1999, and the boxset makes for a great 1606 minutes.
