Q: Does it switch to heating automatically in winter and to cooling automatically in summer?

Auto Switch from Heat To Cool, YES, but the Auto Option may not be turned on. To Turn this Option ON Press & Hold the Fan and Temp Up button until the Display Changes. There will be a Function Number {1st #} and a Setting Number {2nd #} on the display, Press the Next button until you reach Function 12, Change the setting 0 to a 1, Press Done. By pressing the System button You should now have, Heat On/ Cool On/ AUTO / OFF. Q: What is the overall dimension width and height? Is it possible to connect R or RC line to C to avoid batteries since it is same 24 Volt ?

The unit is 3.5 inches high and 4.5 inches wide. Our system is cooling only so we installed a jumper wire between R and Rc plus the 24 volt power line. We installed a separate line to C which, according to the instructions, is the common terminal. With this installation batteries are optional. I'm not an expert on this but we have had good luck with this installation. I hope this is helpful.

Q: Is this easy to hook up easy direction to follow ?

Yes, it is fairly easy to hook-up if you follow the directions. Narrow it down to the section that matches your install. Mark down what color wires are on what terminals and their color on your existing thermostat before disconnecting the current thermostat.

Does anyone know if the Focuspro 5000 can easily replace the Honeywell CT3500? As noted in the first review below, I need to replace a complicated programmable unit but I do not want to have to rewire.
