Really good
After upgrading a laptop's NVMe SSD, I bought one of these to still get some use from the now spare drive. Installation was as simple as it gets. Though, once the SSD is installed, you may find that you won't open it again any time soon, so the tool-less feature of the product is a bit redundant. Still, I like the potential, no matter how frequently I swap drives. The enclosure itself is attractive, very solid (it's all-metal), and the controller used is of a high quality. Speed will be dependent on the SSD you're using, and the USB port you connect it to, but it won't be the enclosure itself that is a bottleneck.

Not fit for purpose!!
Horrible! No space if your ssd has a heatsink, but worse than that, the usb c port is so badly made, you'll be spending most of your time first trying to get it to connect to your laptop, then holding the enclosure and usb c cable in place in the one position where it does work! I'm going to look for another enclosure elsewhere, because this is not fit for purpose!

Excellent build quality
Very solidly built, the casing looks to be machined out of a single block of aluminium. The magnetic drive securing pin is a little fiddly but definitely secure, though the handle for the mechanism that actually closes the enclosure flaps about a lot. The cooling for the drive appears to be very good (I also added a 3mm thermal pad between the USB-PCIe bridge chip and the casing) but for some reason it doesn't support passthrough of the drive's SMART data so I have no idea what its temperature actually is (update- it does actually, just hwinfo and Aida can't read it, but HDtune can for some reason? Anyway, it cools real well). All in all pretty good, I may buy another as I am using this to add more SSD storage to my PC without taking up more PCIe resources.

Excellent build quality let down by a bad connection (Sabrent, please fix)
This is a fantastic product. The unit has some serious heft for serious heat management. The product is a beautifully designed specimin. However, you know there's a but coming and its one not to be trifled with. The unit comes provided with 2 cables, a USB-A/C Sabrent branded one and a USB-C/C unbranded one. The A/C cable fits securely and doesn't fallout when you hold it purely by the cable (as a grip test). The C/C cable is very loose and does not pass the grip test. I also tried with other cables, and the same thing happens. I also bought a Sabrent 14-1 thunderbolt 4 dock and the thunderbolt 4 cable that comes with it, also does not fit well to the enclosure even though it is a good fit for other devices. So there is an issue with my particular unit. I was going to return it and and just get another one, but 2 things are making me hesitate. The first thing is I noticed on the description that this is a commonly returned item. Also, reading a lot of other comments, I find that other people have suffered the same issue.Despite this issue, I do find myself drawn to re-order in the hope that I can get a better unit. So the heart say yes, but the head says no. You have been warned. I am going to message Sabrent and see what they say. They need to re-implement the usb connection and give us a version-2, because other than this, its a fantastic product.

Well made enclosure and fast !
I have purchased 8 of these so far ! They are very well made. I mainly use these to image up drives and then restore image to new / bigger drive ! They are fast ! Been using them with WD SN570 nvme units and haven’t had any problems !

Does what it says on the (heavy) tin
I could start by saying this is "just" an NVMe enclosure to USB 3 adapter, a thing I didn't even know existed until I had to pull some files off a failing NVMe drive from a laptop. But this is a really nice one, seemingly carved out of a single piece of aluminium so having some heft to it, and completely toolless. Unlike some of the other reviewers I had no problem with drives disappearing, although I'm using Linux which has pretty solid USB mass storage support.

Works great for Cloning NVME SSD
Bought this so I could clone the small 128GB nvme that came with my laptop to a larger capacity 500GB nvme ssd. Slightly more expensive than I was looking to pay but it's a quality piece of kit. Really easy to use, no drivers required and drive was recognised by Win10 and Macrium Reflect straight away with no issues. Cloned drive successfully and new nvme is now installed. Will act as additional external storage until I need to clone again. Overall, excellent quality enclosure.
