Q: do these damage the wall once they are removed?

Yes. I just took down my lights. They will either peel a small chip of paint or leave behind adhesive and bits of foam. either is easily fixed. You can remove the adhesive and foam with a product like goo gone without damaging the wall. Flat paint may leave a stain. Chipped paint can be filled with a thin layer of spackle, sanded, and painted.

Q: For Hue Lightstrip, which one to select: 8mm or 10mm?

I just ordered these (10mm) and the standard hue lightstrip doesn't fit in them!

Q: Do these actually lock the LED strip inside like a mounting clip for wires?

Yes, they do and they do a nice job. I don't know if you can tell from the attached pic because I was too lazy to unload the entire cabinet but the clips are holding a flat LED light strip cable that goes from the bottom of the cabinet to the top. They've been in there so long now I don't even give them a second thought. Ok, apparently the clips work better than Amazon. I can't attach a JPG file. Sorry

Q: Are these brackets easy to remove once I’m ready to move out of my apartment in the future? Would it remove the paint too?

I used them on plastic for a temporary purpose but they were very easy to come off.
