A recent trip turned into a larger filming effort than planned and we needed an easy to transport (would fit in our suitcases on an airline, most boom poles will not) and we need it quickly. We took a chance on this Koolertron Lightweight Boom pole and couldn't be happier! It is lightweight, worked well for several days of filming on a busy conference floor using a Rode NG2 and a Rode blimp kit. It handled the weight with minimal (if any) sag and saved the day for us. It is well built, comes with the adapter to convert to the 3/8" thread needed for the blimp mount, is lightweight, and collapses down to even fit in my carry-on, if needed. This is now our go-to pole for our remote shoots.

Honestly, I'm really suprised with the quality. This boom pole is extremely sturdy (even when fully extended). The twist knobs make extending and retracting the pole super easy. Not to mention, when im holding it, its almost weightless. I almost dont feel any weight. I'm so thankfull that it can with a 1/4" screw adapter so I could actually mount my shotgun mic on the end. Definatly worth the money I spent.

If you are rough on gear or travel a lot this is the boom you want. I cant believe the trauma and abuse we have put this little boom through. The locks are nice and tight and the grip has not come apart yet. It can get compact enough to slide into a small bag or case but will still span out for use with minor telephoto interview shots. It isn't the lightest but it sure holds up to the elements. Cord management is key as it will transmit some noise if your boom guys doesn't know what he is doing.

I've used this on three shoots; two 8-hour shoots and one 16-hour. I like it, but the last piece falls out if I extend it out too much where the other sections have something that prevents that. Not sure if mine is missing a part or what. Lightweight and a nice, portable size when collapsed.

Very sturdy, light boom poll. Small enough when it collapsed to easily fit in my camera bag. Grips and twist locks feel nice and sturdy. Good choice for on the go, low budget shooting!

It's not bad but I thought it was going to be longer. The add had the Inches and millimetres reversed. Still, it's a good item and I have a use for it.

The product looks nice and feels nice however the third time we used it it broke. Definitely not worthy asking price if it's so weak.

We just shot a large production with this boom using an AKG microphone and spider mount (needed to order a small thread attachment so the spider mount would fit perfectly). This boom pole worked flawlessly, no unwanted noise on a very quiet set. It is sturdy and we believe it will last our team a very long time. Simply cannot beat the price at the moment.
