I just installed this, and it works great so far! I will update my review if I find any problem with it in the near future.You can find a couple of really good videos on YouTube that show you how to replace the battery. The one I watched was from another company, but this battery is quite a bit cheaper than that one.Make sure that you're buying the right battery for your generation of Kindle. For example this item was used for my 6th generation Kindle.You can find out which generation your Kindle is by looking under the Device settings of your Kindle.The hardest part in removing the old battery is getting the cover off of the Kindle, unless you've done it before. Once you know exactly how to take it off, it's pretty easy using the tools that come with this. It took me about 15 or 20 minutes. But if I ever did it again it would probably only take about 5 or 10.So far the battery seems to work just fine, and like I said, I will update this with a lower rating if I have any problems in the future.

Working well after 4 months. Doesn't seem to have the capacity the original did, but satisfactory.

The tool that is sent to open the case is worthless. I was lucky to have a similar tool on hand to open the case.

Successful install on 2016 7th gen Paperwhite!Took about 30 minutes mostly because opening the case was not easy. We ended up using a small knife rather than the blue tool that was supplied. The screwdriver tool was excellent - magnetic tip saved my usual clumsy dropping of screws. And these screws are tiny. After installing the battery was charged to 99%. I would also recommend watching a YouTube video so you can see what’s involved. Time will tell how long a charge lasts with the new battery but my old one had decreased to lasting only a few days. I’m glad I bought this one for under $15 rather than the one that cost twice that.It’s now been a month since I put the new battery in and my paperwhite just gave me the low battery message. This new battery has lasted 4 weeks - just as long as the original battery.

Bought this to replace the battery on my 6th gen Kindle. The first time I replaced the battery, the screen would randomly refresh, even when I wasn't interacting with it. I did some research with Google Gemini and found out that this was probably because the voltage from the replacement battery was slightly off.I easily returned the battery to Amazon and got a second replacement. This time it's working fine without issues! It's great to bring life back to these old electronics.Pro-tip: Before you remove the screen, watch a video online that shows you exactly where the adhesive is. You want to avoid crumpling up the adhesive when you press in and remove the front panel. Also, don't touch or bend any of the electronics on the side of the screen when you pull it out.And make sure the film on the screen doesn't come off. You might need to push it down, because the adhesive on the screen can get stuck to the face plate, and that's not good.

My wife's Kindle was old and the battery would no longer hold a charge for more than a few minutes. She was going to throw it away not realizing that the battery could be upgraded and the old battery removed. I watched a YOUTUBE video that shows how to perform the replacement. It was easy and I saved her old Kindle so that it could be used for many more years. An inexpensive fix.

This seller is excellent! He/she clearly explained the different kindle paper white batteries with the correct part number. I started out on the wrong battery. And thanks to the examples switched to the correct battery. The tools provided were excellent. I highly recommend this vendor. Remember hairdryer on low to soften the glue. Common sense to me but I would bet the purchaser who broke the tool did not soften glue.
