don't be a cheapskate, buy OEM!
2001 chevy silverado 4.3 V6 shallow pan with 16 holes.this is one job you dread doing! its fairly simple and a little messy. google " 4l60e transmission and filter change" and watch some youtube for tips. here's my shadetree experience,1) latex gloves, lots of cardboard, shop towels, trash bag and oil catch pan.2) socket set, flathead, pry bar, mallet or hammer and block of wood. ramps make it a lot easier!3) i striped my drain plug, its a common problem, so this i what i did. loosen bolts and take out the bolts from 1 rear corner, let drain. when done take all bolts out except 1 middle bolt rear and 1 passenger side front. leave both loose where you can get a 1/4' clear tube in pan and siphon out the remaining oil, go in from the front drivers side. works best when tranny is WARM. takes about 1 hour for ~4.5qts in pan.4) clean inside pan with paint thinner. remove gasket with razor. small brass brush helps get gasket residue off pan.5) put gasket under something heavy and flat couple of days before install. lay gasket on clean rim start all 16 bolts, thread them up at least 1/4". install filter followed by pan. start bolts by hand using extension and had tighten. using 1 hand go in a crisscross pattern and tighten, 1 HAND! DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, you'll smash the gasket and get leaks.6) follow manual for fluid and capacity for make and model. check after driving for ~30 min, park, leave running and check fluid level. check often for a couple of days on level surface.don't be cheap on this one, i've got 190k on mine, it will be the last filter. perfect fit! i did not replace the filter seal, mine was still in great shape. i refilled 5 qts of valvoline dex/merc in my ole tranny, hell it lasted this long, why not. 07 and up will be dex 6. wally and amazon carry both.

Doesn't fit my 4.8...
Amazon says "fits your van," but it doesn't. Not even close. I suspect the filter they sent is for the six cylinder model, me I'm running eight cylinders. It was on sale, package damaged but good condition, and it was, but it's just not right. This is the second sale/used item I've had with problems. The other didn't have all the parts.

Does not fit 06 Trailblazer LT 4.2.
Good quality filter and gasket but does not fit my 06 Trailblazer LT 4.2 despite Amazon parts fit check saying it does. The gasket fits fine but corner angle of the filter prevents the pan from closing. As stated, this filter fits shallow pan so be careful if you have a deep pan and Amazon states it fits.

Make sure it fits, cause apparently, they lie
I ordered for a 2005 GMC Canyon / Chevy Colorado. Took my transmission pan off after draining the fluid, and the gasket matched perfectly to the pan. Well, I noticed that the filter sent to me was metal instead of plastic, but that didn't really alert me to anything wrong, cause parts get changes all the time. I mean the transmission fluid isn't even the same as prior. The new filter seemed to fit in perfectly..... That is, until I started to put the pan back on. The filter doesn't have the corner slightly cut off like the original, so the pan wouldn't seat correctly. Ridiculous... I'd have never known prior to taking the pan down, and I couldn't wait for another filter cause I needed my truck.Because of the incompetence of either Amazon, or the seller, I had to reuse the old filter and just fill up with new fluid. Now I know not to trust Amazon for any vehicle parts... not even OEM. I'm highly upset.DON'T TELL ME THIS MATCHES WHEN IT DOES NOT! Anything else may not have been a problem, but this was... And I guess I'm just out the cash because of this garbage.

Good Bundle
Transmission pan was leaking so I decided to fix it and this item worked out great. I changed the filter and installed the new gasket. So far no leaks and the transmission has been running well.

94 K1500 EXACT OEM Part
94 K1500 Shallow Pan Transmission 4L60EOne comment is the seal that the transmission filter tube goes into. It can be a real issue to remove from the transmission. After some research and discussion I concluded it is not necessary to remove it, just take the new seal and put it aside and install the new filter into the already installed seal in the transmission. Pops right into place.Torque the bolts to the recommended torque, criss cross pattern. Pay attention to bolt length, however, mine are all the same.Easy install, no leaks. My installation did not require removing cross members or heaven forbid loosening the transfer case and lowering it.
