Money Saver!!!!
I normally use an expensive (Q) brand curl jelly-goo when I wear a curly weave during summer months. Thankfully the Q brand was sold out at my favorite online shopping places so I tried Mop Top! The cute name, product description and lower price were enough reasons to get me to try it, glad I did!! You only need a little dab, rubbed through wet hair; the curly-curls start to set almost immediately and continue throughout the drying process. I use a spray mister (bought on Amazon) to get a fine, even distro of moisture without dripping. Mop Top sets up quick and has a fresh scent. I'm using it on 8" curly weave (also bought on Amazon) and it works GREAT!!

works for fine, thin hair
I never leave amazon reviews.my hair is super fine and just started having wave a few years ago. this product defines my waves, makes my hair curlier, softens without heaviness or buildup and even made my neck soft. lol I was going to get lux but after watching the process and seeing the price i decided on this cheaper, faster option. I don’t regret my choice at all! It’s a simple way to enhance your waves or curls without crunch or heaviness. Also what the company supports is also a win win.

Great for my short, curly, heat damaged hair!
I loved this custard! It smells like citrus fruit in your hair when wet and becomes lighter when your hair dries. I bought this product when looking for something to help define my curls. For context, I have VERY short curly hair with layers and loose bits from consistent heat damage, and there's a good amount of frizz. I shampooed and conditioned my hair in the shower and towel dried it. Afterwards, I split my hair into four sections and distributed a quarter-sized amount to each section. I noticed that if i use more than that, the gel will become flaky when dry, so be mindful of that. I personally let it air dry and it worked well, minus a few slightly crunchy bits. When that happened, i give my dry hair a gentle scrunch and it softened things up. My hair looks so much better and is so much easier to manage!

Didn't work for me, but here's why!
MopTop didn’t work for me as I had hoped – to no fault of the product as far as I can ascertain. A couple of observations. It is custard-like, with the feel of a silicone base. I didn’t check the ingredients, so don’t quote me on that. It reminds me of the slime my daughter makes, when it’s not quite the right consistency, still wet and gooey, but sticks to your fingers. So for a custard, it doesn’t align with other custards I have used. It’s more cloudy-clear in color, not white, and smells great to me, but that is an opinion. It’s the feel of the product that I didn’t care for in a custard. Results for MeI begin my routine on wet but not dripping hair. I run cake curl friend through with my fingers, brush through to enhance the thickness of the curls, and put it up in a micro-fiber hair wrap for about 10-15. Mixing these two products may have been where I went wrong. I usually finish with American crew firm hold gel or soft hold gel, so I was intending on MopTop in the middle, or to finish depending on the hold.Curl friend and MopTop do not mix. I’ve experienced this before – the chemical compatibility is a no-go. It immediately went awry, the texture changed (glue-like white globs) and you’d just know they don’t work together. I had to rewash my hair. The second attempt was MopTop on its own, run-through on wet but not dripping hair and up in a microfiber wrap for 10-15. I allowed my hair to mostly dry on its own after removing the wrap. The texture was still not right for my hair. I could tell it was going to set crunchy like a mouse or a firm gel, but it did soften with a bit of hand scrunching. The trouble is, it didn’t hold my curls together. I had fly-aways. I think I saw a review of the same. I was too concerned with mixing another product that I used it alone. That could be where I went wrong.I will try again as I have a full tub of the stuff. If anyone has recommendations on what to mix with, happy to hear them! I did not take a photo, but I will on the next round.

I'm not an avid reviewer....I should be better with it, but oh well...if it's important, I will 100% review it to help folks out with deciding....so...I literallyHave HORSE (like) HAIR...no joke, ladies...I am every beauticians NIGHTMARE....its long, it's naturally curly, and to top it off, they are...well, cork screw shaped.... BEAUTIFUL, but with that comes the headache of what products to use...some are heavy and weigh my cork screws down, some are 2 light and a waste of money. I've been trying just about anything...from $ to $$$...I even mix and match things to keep those curls in shape, bouncy, and not kinked up, frizzy, or looking like a hot mess, and not have to use a 1/2 can of "big sexy hair" haispray, and my head feels like it's been dipped in cement....only vinegar gets that stuff out, as you curly divas know, and surely feel my 🫤It was Prime Day, and this popped up as I was digging for something new to try...read reviews...ok, why not....$15 , what's there to loose ? Now on to the blow drying.....I always use a diffuser, and it's head down @ss up while drying my hair.....I let the diffuser do its job, not crunching the curls, just drying....bc, it is true, curls r friends, they stick together....and once I raised my head, and worked on sides and back of head, I peeped in the mirror.....OMG🤯....my curls...they look alive...they r not dragged down, and...wow...hair is shiny. Not greasy at all. It smells AWESOME...and looks even better !! So, to those of you whom suffer like me with the quest for ONE thing to apply to hair to style--🤔 THIS IS IT !! Expensive but worth it
My hair feels a lot lighter after using this shampoo than any other types of shampoo that usually weigh down my hair. This shampoo is amazing

Fantastic for wash and gos on type 4 hair
Very good product for wash and gos on coily, kinky (widely termed type 4) hair. I’ve used it as a one and done product as well as with my favourite gels like Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic and it’s fantastic.
