Excellent Product
This is an excellent outlet which is on a timer. I use this to ensure my halloween and christmas decorations come on. I has a photocell, so it detects when the light is low enough that it turns on automatically. It's adjustable from 1 hour to 8 hours. It also has a setting for dusk to dawn. It's lasted me several years. 5 stars.

Short cord, but excellent quality and reliability.
Although my Amazon sealed bubble bag was empty when it came, Amazon's AI was very helpful to remedy and another one was actually delivered the following day. So am keeping this at 5 stars.I really like that you can use it with a remote, and was able to do that from my kitchen window.I was looking for something for my patio string lights that would turn on at dusk and off a few hours later. This was a perfect fit and I can alter that schedule as my needs change. The quality feels good and feel like I don't have to worry about weather, although it is partially sheltered. The plug is very short - in fact too short for me to put on a hook, seeing that my outdoor outlet is situated on the brick, and could almost reach the wood edge of the trellis it borders, but not quite. So it dangles down and I worried that it would be too dark in the corner, that it would turn on long before dusk. But it doesn't! Comes right on at dusk!I have played around with the timer via the remote at my window, and it is reliable.I would recommend this brand.

Useful in so many ways
This timer is useful in so many ways & it was definitely a good purchase. I've been using it year round since last summer. It has only glitched after a power outage. After a power out, I have to press the button again to reset the timer option that I want it on.& I've used it both indoors & outdoors. During the summertime I use it outside, set on the dusk til dawn feature, along with the 6hr timer or the 8hr timer options. This is extremely helpful, for it efficiently turns my bug zapper on & off only at nighttime, that way I don't have to worry about turning it off during the daytime. Right on cue, before the sun starts to set, it automatically turns it on. Then right on cue, hours later or at dawn- depending on the timer length chosen- it automatically turns it off.To my surprise it is just as effective indoors, even on gloomy days in the Fall & wintertime. I plugged my Christmas tree into the timer & it worked great. & The last few months I've had my portable heater plugged into it, & set it for dusk til dawn, with its 2hr timer option. It automatically turns the device on and off within that time frame set, warming up my living room every evening. It is plug & play. There is even an "on" option to just keep what you plugged into it "on" indefinitely, so it can just be used like an extension cord. This timer has been incredible to use on these electronic devices that I do not want running 24/7. It takes away stress so that I don't have to get up & worry about turning off these devices so they won't overheat. I originally bought this to use as a timer for my tortoise's heat lamp, but I discovered so many other ways to use this.

Works great - I recommend.
Works well. Turns lights on and off as set. Nothing could be easier - plug it in, plug in lights, set timer and that's it. I use it for dawn to dusk string of small lights in my side yard which I will discourage any intrusion into the windows on the end of the house (which otherwise would be in the dark all night). This item seems durable eventhough it is in the sun all day. Rain doesn't seem to phase it. I like this brand of cords, connectors, timers, etc. I have purchased several items of this brand and they all are very durable and reliable. I recommend this item.

Timer is well-suited to my need.
It works well as it is expected to and what I had expected it to perform for my use.

As reliable as any out there
I've been installing Christmas Lights professionally for the last 24 years, so it's safe to say I've used quite a few timers. These have worked as well or better than any I've ever used. I also have them on my own home in 2 separate locations; both of which controlled only by the photocell function on the timers, (since I might've misplaced the timers, but currently blaming that on my daughter).CONSISTANCY & ACCURACY: Despite the timers being on opposite sides of the home, they both turn on & off consistently within 5-10 minutes of each other every morning & evening. Out of roughly 50 timers currently being used by my customers, only 2 have had issues, which I think is a more than acceptable failure rate.REMOTE FUNCTIONS: Back when I did have remotes for these, the response time & rate from the remote to timer was not excellent. It's weird, but I can press the "off" button and they'd instantly respond, but the "on" button typically required 4-8 attempts before responding. It's like that with my customer's timers as well, so I know this isn't an isolated incident. The batteries provided for the remote have been mostly adequate, although I seem to remember changing 3-4 batteries out of about 50 this year that were dead straight out of the box.LONGEVITY: Out of anywhere from 100-150 used over the last 3 years, I'd estimate maybe a 5% failure, as in they would no longer work at all. Much more common has been the timer not responding to the remote, even with new batteries. It's like they become "unpaired" or something during the summer. This has happened to me approximately 10% of the time over a span of 3 years.VALUE: As my headline states, I believe these are as reliable as any out there. Take into account they are typically priced very competitively, ($11-$13 per when buying in bulk). I believe they are an excellent value.WOULD I RECOMMEND? Absolutely. Almost all timers eventually are jerks and will be jerky. These are just less jerky than most. I will be buying plenty more I'm sure.
