I Really Loved This Tale Of Hook and Highly Recommend Reading This Book!!
I first saw the Disney Movie Peter Pan as a small girl with my family on the big screen at a movie theatre. Of course I was enthralled with the thought of flying off to Neverland wanting to meet everyone and get some fairy dust from Tinker Bell. But I had no desire to meet up with Capt Hook. This story of Neverland is totally different. Told through the eyes of Hook, before he became the dreaded and evil Captain Hook. This tale shows us the young man living with a job he hates but needs to continue, because like all of us he enjoys a good meal and a warm place to sleep. He is also a dreamer, longing for adventure, a different life than the one he has been forced to keep. This story gives us a look at the good side of Archibald Jameson a young man with a heart. Fate has a different plan for Archie, which is put into place when he decides to take a shorter route home, which takes him thru the shady part of town, near the docks. A storm is approaching and Archie wants to get home before he gets drenched. The storm unleashes drenching Archie, and as he steps thru the doors of a tavern his fate and life will be forever changed. K.R.Thompson weaves a tale of sailing ships, Pirates plundering, treasures stolen, lives changed forever. Her story is very well written, very descriptive, making the reader feel like they are on the ship with Archie and the other pirates. I myself really liked seeing this side of the evil and hateful Captain Hook. A caring young man thrown into a life he didn't ask for but embraced for his own survival. I will be looking forward to her next book in the Untold Story of Neverland.....

Not your children's story of Hook!
Everyone has heard some version of the story of Hook and Peter Pan. So when I read the blurb I was really intrigued. The back story of how Hook became well, Hook was a lot darker than what was portrayed in children's stories and disney movies but for me I loved this version. It showed real life, and how it doesn't always turn out how you hope it will. This wasn't a happy story but one of loss but also love and friendship. I really loved all the characters, main and secondary. The world the author created was magical and made you wish Neverkand was real. I don't want to give too much away (although you know how it will end somewhat). The ending though left me wanting more and I can't wait for the next book! 4 Stars!

A new twist on an old tale--captivating and well executed.
I really enjoyed this story. It was engaging in not only the characters but in the story itself. This is especially impressive because I knew how it would end--we're all familiar with the Peter Pan story--but I was still captivated. The Archie character was wonderful; well developed and sympathetic. For a while I just couldn't see how he would transform but in the end Ms. Thompson nailed it. I always enjoy stories that take what we already know to be a villain and show how a normal person would arrive at that place. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this storyline.

You had me at pirates...
I REALLY liked this book. It drew me in right from the beginning, and I could barely stand to put it down. I loved the back story of Captain Hook - the author has a wonderful imagination! I wanted to know more about all of the characters, so I'll definitely be reading more of this series. I really enjoy the style of alternative "reality" for an existing fictional story...how fun! I would definitely recommend this book for fans of the Peter Pan story (but not for the purists!). It's a great romp!

Terrific and best telling of the transformation of a poor printer into Captain James Hook!
I bought my copy and I am glad I did. "Sitting in the dark corners of the print shop, Archie Jameson dreams of adventure, never imagining it will find him." The best telling of the greatest Pirate Captain of all. Not a kid's book, it has humor, mermaids, violence, and good historical detail of historical pirates. A great read with a great cover. Recommended.

Hook: The Untold Stories of Neverland by K.R. Thompson ROCKS!
Hook: The Untold Stories of Neverland by K.R. Thompson ROCKS!This isn't your saccharine sweet "Peter Pan" story, it catches you and makes you feel for Archie Jameson (Captain Hook) and how he came to be enemies with Peter Pan over a Pixie and an Indian. The secondary characters kidnap you as well and demand they be heard.I'm sooo looking forward to more books in The Untold Stories of Neverland series.

Good and different
If you want a refreshing new take on the pirate in never land, Hook is for you. This story take elements from the original story of Peter Pan with the twist and perspective of Hook and a few crewman. The adventure is still to continue with a second story that I will read and add to ever growing reading list!

Slow paced story
I liked the first book of this series, but when I got to this one, I feel like to story didn't have enough strength to it. Sure the story had things to keep the story rolling, but nothing that popped. I normally can't put a book down, this one I would put down constantly because I feel like it lacked depth. The romance stopped short, and the climax only hits near the end. It's still good, just not great.

Great story and well written. Very enjoyable!
Great story of how Captain Hook came into existence. As a huge Once Upon a Time fan, I was interested to see this author's take on the Captain Hook story, and she did not let us down. Very enjoyable novel.

10/10
Quite literally the best book Ive ever read, and the favorite in my collection. I read this book multiple times a week since ive bought it months ago. With Peter Pan being my favorite movie, I love how well the author blending in the original story with the story she wrote, while still having it be unique. I messaged the authors facebook page too just because I had a question about the series and shes super nice, so thats a bonus :)
