Best noise suppressor hands down
If you search forums about noise suppressor pedals, you'll usually find two overwhelming opinions: 1) you shouldn't use a noise suppressor, or 2) the Decimator II G String is the best. Well, my pedal board requires a noise suppressor, and this thing definitely is the best out of all that I've read about and the few that I've tried. Why? (listed in order most to least important)- Separate guitar in/out and suppression in/out (see below)- The attack and decay are just right, your dynamics are preserved and you don't get any annoying tail of noise before the gate closes- One simple and effective control. On most effects I like more control. On a noise suppressor, I want it simple.- Built like a tank- Shiny chrome :)This is the only noise suppressor I found that has guitar in/out separated from the noise suppression in/out. This is awesome, and I have no idea why no one else is doing it. It means that the pedal always reacts to your guitar's raw, unaltered input signal, so you can put any wall of noise you like after it and it will follow your guitar's original dynamics. It also means you can put it wherever you want in your effects chain and it will open and close the gate at EXACTLY the same time. Yeah, it's expensive. Get it anyway.

Everything I hoped it would be...
The Decimator II G String was the final piece to the puzzle for my pedalboard. I'm a professional musician and have used different noise reduction and noise gate pedals over the years, but this one is the best I've used. Being the guitar at the front of the chain with the Guitar In/Out while having the gate (Decimator In/Out) after the overdrive pedals and before the delay and reverb gave me optimal noise reduction while giving me the full range of volume control on my guitar without having the signal choked off. I experienced no change in tone and the Decimator threshold ontrol sits comfortably at about noon for all of my guitars.I recommended this pedal to a friend and fellow musician recently and he just texted me to tell me how well it worked to clean up the noise on his pedalboard as well....and he uses twice the pedals I do.The pedal is built like a tank, looks great on the board, and does everything it's supposed to do. I couldn't be happier.

Better than NS2 and no tone sucking!
I have used Boss NS2 for not less than 2 years and I have tried all different setups whether through fx loop or not but it was missing 2 things. The first is that it was creating a harmony aound to the original signal, I am not sure why is that but perhaps because the singal was going through the fx loop and for some reason there is a harmony!. The second is that and as many other said about the NS2 it sucked the tone by the time you are comfortable with the noise level which means by the it is around 9. Now about the ISPG2, I got it delivered today and here is what I found. In term of sound, perfect and no change from the original sound. In terms of noise reduction, perfect only between -30 and -25 db and anything beyond is terrible as it starts to create some crappy noise by the time the sound of your guitar fades out if you know what I mean. In terms of size and look, it is good. I prefer this pedal over the NS2 bcus it does what I want, it removes completely the noise without sucking the tone.

works great
I like an over the top super saturated lead tone with overdrives pinned at max. Bought the BOSS NS-1 because it was less expensive but after a few weeks realized there's a reason why you see the Decimator on so many pro pedal boards. Does exactly what I need it for: eliminates all the hiss of my pedals while letting through the delay tails. The unit is bullet-proof and looks awesome in its shiny metal casing. Pedals come and go but this one has a permanent place my board. In my endless quest for tone and always chasing "that sound" it's feels fantastic to have found something that is a keeper. If you have the means I highly recommend it. Great pedal.

Amazing, worth the price
This thing is... expensive. I wasn't sure if it was truly worth the price, but a billion internet reviews and testimonials assured me it was. And it is. If you want the best noise gate pedal ever made, buy one of these. Works best when used in the effects loop of your amp, but if your amp doesn't have one, still works great. All that hiss, fuzz, noise, whatever... completely gone until you hit a string/note.That being said, if you do buy it, for the love of your favorite deity, buy a 9v power adapter, because this pedal will suck the life out of a 9v (Energizer, Duracell, doesn't matter) extremely quickly. Especially if you forget to unplug the guitar input cable. I bought a nice $20 9v adapter and am pleased as punch.

The Best
This is probably the best noise reducing pedal on the market. It operates exactly as advertised.

Hands down the best noise reduction pedal around.
Hands down the best noise reduction pedal around. I had the original G-String for several years and decided to upgrade to the latest and greatest. If you set this one up properly, you WILL eliminate most unwanted noise from your rig. The key word there is PROPERLY. If you do your research before any purchase, like me, then you'll notice there's lots of confusion on what the right way to set this pedal up in your chain is. It really does depend on what type of signal chain setup you have so just do your research. If you use an effects loop in your setup then this is definitely the version of Decimator you want. Right now, I'm running this through pedals in the front of a Mesa 5:50 Plus and pedals through the loop using a Fender Tele with single coils. I get ZERO buzz or hum. Don't waste your time or money with other noise suppressor pedals. Bite the bullet once and get the right one. This is it.

TWO defective units
First one had to be unplugged then plugged in again for it to work (worked fine after doing that (had to do that every time though!)). Second one made a high pitch squeal when turned clockwise past twelve o’clock. Waaaay too expensive to be sent TWO defective units. No thanks...
