This is not my favorite Boiron product. But, take this review with a grain of salt, because I do not really use cough syrup all that much, so I don't have the best basis of comparison. It did taste not gross, so that was a plus.

My wife had a frequent cough for years. She had seen numerous doctors and tried many different products. This product eliminated her cough in short order. BTW she is a nonsmoker.

This stuff works which is all anyone really needs to know. It clears up both nose and throat. Try it

Argh. I don't believe the last reviewer who said their cold was gone after using this product!!! This product is so mild that I barely noticed any difference in my awful coughing!!! About 10 minutes after taking the super sweet syrup I noticed a slight decrease in the frequency of my coughs but definitely NO COMPLETE TEMPORARY RELIEF. I also gave it to my 3 year old son who was coughing and did not notice any relief for him either. This is just too mild. Went out and bought the toxic Nyquil!

Does the job, but if it's the flu, see your doctor. Follow directions and don't abuse or think it's candy.

We love this cough syrup. It tastes delicious and seems to help with coughing. I am happy to use something less toxic for my kids. The cough medicene on the market for kids is more toxic than the cough, so we choose this brand as a way to have a more homepathic option. Got it at amazon because my local health store was cleaned out.

Ok, it works... a little. I quit smoking cigarettes one week ago and I have developed a post-smoking cough that is intense and severe. This cough syrup works a tiny bit but really just isn't very strong.On the other hand both NyQuil and the CVS generic version of DayQuil work MUCH, MUCH better than Chestal Honey... why? Because they contain much more toxic drugs THAT ACTUALLY WORK. If you have a BAD cough, forget this stuff, just get a real cough syrup like DayQuil. If you have a lesser cough I'm sure this stuff will work better (and it's healthier) - as I said - it works a 'little' but I've got a really powerful cough and this stuff is far too weak.

My 85-year-old mother has a chronic cough, and it's dangerous for elderly folks to take antihistimines, so we've all been frustrated, trying to alleviate Mom's cough. She used tons of strong cough drops, which made her mouth sore. Then we discovered this cough syrup, and just a little bit every now and then gives her great relief! She no longer feels like a victim of her coughing.
