Seems to kill the rust.I'm cast iron pretty good, I would use it again

Works pretty well
It covered the sanded down rust well. After drying it took the next layers on paint evenly without any issue. It drys quickly and applies evenly

Loctite Extend
This product is similar if not the same as "OSPHO". It is a chemical rust converter, and you don't have to purchase "OSPHO" that comes in large containers. After application the surface must be top coated with paint/primer.

THIS CAUSES BARE METAL TO RUST
The media could not be loaded. Loctite 633877 is NOT the same as naval jelly. I was misguided by another listing into buying this thinking it contained phosphoric acid like naval jelly which *can* dissolve rust without causing rust flashing (I had rust flashing issues with evapo-rust in the past). This has an active ingredient of tannic acid and basically a primer suspended in acetone and butane which sucks, it peels with your finger nail. It converts rust to a black surface but not consistently, leaves a patchy clear-coat* film, AND it causes rust flashing on non-rusted surfaces.*the clear coat film has reacted metal particles in it so it leaves a black or orange smudge permanently on your parts. This product is horrible. I regret buying it and cannot return it. I recommend everyone wanting to buy this product to go look at youtube tests with rust removers, they found some with phosphoric acid that work at dissolving rust.I personally gave up on chemical removers and removed rust physically with my makita drill, wire brush, and a felt pad on an angle grinder to buff out some of the scratches it left behind. The best way to stop rust is prevention so I use aerosol gun care oil. It works better than this loctite junk. Included pictures. Coat your tools before they rust, do the same with components in your car, they sell various sprays. Gun oil can also remove rust parts with hinges (such as pliers) by suspending the particulates in oil and lubricating it with a protective layer left behind, mine is also dry-to-touch (typical rust removers/converters cannot do this especially not this one with a primer that would act as a glue).I think this loctite product was made for landlords to “fix” old rusty things around the house by spraying this crap on it, then coating it in more latex paint. I would never use this on anything I cared about, this product ‘fixes’ nothing it is a bad excuse for a bandaid. No I do not recommend this product. It actively creates rust, burns to touch, and smells awful. The drying time is long too. The only benefit was this was cheap for a big can. lol.Wanted to leave one last update, I sprayed half the can on a badly rusted hammer with this and it turned completely black. I can leave an update on it after a few years to see if it holds up.

Clogs up
Does work but if you don't use it all it's a waste of money because it clogs up wasted more than half the can
