Fantastic, durable pedals
What can I say? These things are bombproof. I started off as a mountain biker and got accustomed to SPDs. When I transitioned to road biking, I continued to use SPDs for the sheer ease of use and convenience.1. Durable: Other than some basic cleaning (wipe them down maybe 2-3 times a year?), you don't need to do anything else. I've used the same M520s on one of my road bikes since 2011 and it still works like a champ today. I just bought another road bike and bought another set of M520s which is why I'm leaving a review now.2. Ease of use. The M520s are dual side meaning you can clip in on either side of the pedal. Some times you'll see road cyclists struggle to clip on at a stop light because some road pedals (SPD-SL, Look, etc.) are single sided. You won't have that problem here.3. Inexpensive. They're $40. Even bike lights can cost more than that.

Great pedals
My first experience with clipless pedals and these by all accounts are a solid pedal that is serviceable and long-lasting. There are plenty of online reviews recommending this pedal and the $40 price point is amazing considering I replaced $125 flat pedals. Not entirely sold on clipless yet but will deal with the growing pains/cramps to see if I can improve my overall riding endurance. I paired them with Giro Rumbler shoes that are sharp-looking and stiff enough in the footbed.

Excellent pedals
I had to replace the pedals that came with the spinning bike, they were awful. The Shimano pedals are excellent. They are easy go connect/disconnect.

Clean, crisp, clear, confident clip-ins
Shimano has clearly upped its game in a market where they already had the best pedal. This model shows the benefit of engineering simplicity, as the pedal is lighter yet more secure on the road and on staionary bikes. While I nver had a single problem with my old Shimano pedals, I replace them on my road and mountain bikes for this version. Clipping in and out is flawless, easy and gives you the confidence that you will never get stuck-even when a rabbit runs out in front of you on the bkike path.Obviously, huge fan and I can't see how anyone couled be anything other than delighted with this pedal!
