Great Pop & Easy to Swing
In the past, my son tended to prefer balanced bats. For his 13U season, he wanted a bat with more pop. This Easton XL3 fit the bill. It is somewhat end-loaded, but surprisingly easy to swing. Moving from a -8 balanced bat to this -5 XL3 was not a challenge. The bat has great pop. There is little or no vibration on mis-hits. It has held up well through winter batting practice and the spring and summer seasons.NOTE: My son recently got some experience swinging an XL1 (-5), the composite barrel cousin to the XL3. The XL1 is notably more end-loaded and less balanced than the XL3. You will likely get more pop out of the XL1, but the XL3 would probably be the better choice for players who like a more balanced bat.
