Best holster for your firearms - especially heavy full size ones
Let's start that I a fan of 1791 products. This holster was designed for a Ruger GP 100 which is very similar to the older Ruger Security Six 357. The GP has a full lug barrel while the Security Six is only 1/2 lug. The grips are different but the body of firearms are both 6 shot 357 revolvers. All 1791 holsters need a period to break in - they give you great instructions on how to do this. I put he Security Six in this new holster and it is perfect fit. The Security Six has a higher front blade sight - no problem with this holster. Fit and quality are great in 1791's. I have one for a 1911 with twin mag holder it holds a big heavy gun high and tight to you body. With the 357 it is held high and tight. If you conceal carry at 4:00 o'clock under a vest or jacket this would make a rather large firearm disappear and you would have fire power of a 357 Mag. Retention is great not going to fall out and can be drawn quickly.I purchased the Security Six in the early1970's after the USMC it has been accurate (better than me)reliable for almost 50 years IT DESERVES A NICE GREAT 1791 HOLSTER. A heavy firearm need strong supporting holster to carry easily and in comfort - concealed or open. I can not say enough about how great these holsters are for full size firearms.

Best holster I could ask for!
It arrived fast. This is a sturdy, beautiful leather holster. It fits my S&W 65 K frame (4 inch barrel) very well. Its snug enough to retain the revolver upside down but I can still draw the weapon rapidly if needed. The leather is thick with very good stitching. It may need some breaking in, but it comes with instructions on how to do that. I couldnt find the barrel length in the description so I'll just add it fits a 4 inch, but has an open bottom so a longer barrel could fit into it, it'll just pop out at the bottom of the holster. Otherwise perfect!

Indestructible but Needs a Break-In Period
This is my first experience with a good leather holster. I bought a cheap one off Ebay years ago for a different firearm, but this is much higher quality. It comes with instructions for breaking it in, including wrapping your gun in plastic and forcing it into the holster, and leaving it there for a few hours. After following the instructions, I ended up having to double-wrap my revolver, and leave it in the holster for nearly a week. The retention is still a bit tighter than I'd like, but it should get better over time. Breaking in the belt loops is at least twice as difficult if you want to use a thick gun belt. Great holster, high quality, but for those not accustomed to quality leather holsters, be prepared to break it in.

This is a very well-made holster
I don't do a lot of reviews, really only when I feel strongly about a product. In this case, this is a holster for a K/L frame S&W revolver, but I have been using it for a 2019 Colt King Cobra 3".First off, the quality is very good. The leather is appropriately stiff, but is relatively soft on the inside to protect the firearm. It fits very well on me and is very comfortable to wear. Everything from the reinforcement of critical parts to the stitching is quality, the same quality I expect from custom holster manufacturers at a higher price. It's even downright pretty to look at. It is a little loose on my pistol because mine is smaller than the S&W the holster is designed for, but that's not the holster's fault. When I put a Model 19 into it, it fit like a glove.Overall, I don't make a lot of product recommendations, but these guys are making a quality product at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Great quality leather!
I bought mine for a standard 686 with the six shot cylinder. It was very tight at first. I wrapped a few layers of saran wrap around the gun and then wiggled it into the holster. I let it set a few hours and wiggled it back out. Now the gun fits perfect and tight but not too tight. The quality of the leather and the fit and finish are top notch. This is a winner for sure. Also its an incredible value. I'm very happy I bought this.

High Quality Holster
I have purchased higher priced holsters before and most of them do not compare to this companies product. I am very impressed with the quality and durability of the leather. Now breaking in this holster for my Taurus 44 mag 4" is going to take a little work but it is going to be well worth the money I paid. Thank you 1791 GUNLEATHER.. FYI.. This holster fit my Taurus 357 Mag 4" perfectly for anybody looking for a great holster. I will highly recommend this holster!!

Made in Mexico....
Headquartered in Miami, FL, but MADE IN MEXICO. That being said, it's good quality for the $. Definitely follow the break-in instructions. I thought I was going to rip the front sight of my 686 because it was ridiculously tight. (Fits 4" S&W 686 plus perfect) After giving the leather a VERY generous oiling, and leaving the gun holstered overnight, it's a great fit. Have not broken in the belts loops yet, that's gonna take some time....VERY stiff. I'm sure this is going to hold up over the years.

Well made, fit well and ride comfortably, if you want to wear leather this is a good deal
I have four of the 1791holsters. Chiefs special, Smith model 66, glock 43 and glock 27. These holsters are well made, color is consistant, ride comfortably and the guns fit well. I have several similar holsters that sell for $125 and more that are comparable in every way to the 1791. These holsters are a Good bargin. I also have double magazine holders for the glock 43 and 27. Same quality, same recommendation.
