Kodak Alaris E1025 Optical Scanner

A best buy.

I really like this handy and reasonably small scanner for when I travel. I seldom need a printer when I’m on the go, and don’t really want messy inks and toner to mess with while traveling, so this scanner is well suited to my needs. Alaris makes quite a few scanners which are much more expensive, larger, and more complicated (though not overly difficult). You can get the basics down and do quite fine, or you can learn the ins and outs to customize your results.But that’s JustMe.

things right off the bat; i had to register it before i could download the driver... hmm.. they got my info.... that should be optional... the manual and user guide is also downloaded- the unit is impossible to use without reading the manual because there are no labels that indicate what the optional button are "up, down, play, cancel and off... up and down do what? not easy to use without reading... i tried 3 times to scan 5 pages and the scanner feed took 2 pages at a time.... and there is something missing or i just was unable to find it....i have not been able to figure out how to scan 1 one page without the blank back side of the sheet being scanned... a four page scan is 8 pages

This scanner will not feed the paper to scan it. What a complete waste

This is not your regular 2 in one scanner/printer this is the next level scanning, This baby is a workhorse it scans very fast and has tons of features and scan up to 3000 page per day, that is insane amount of pages, it's very light and small doesn't take too much space on the desk.Similar scanners with the less features from HP, canon or Fuji will cost minimum $400+, I think Alaris priced this scanner very well and for a price that is a steal in my opinion.The only thing I don't like that it doesn't have a wireless feature, but I think they wanted to keep that for their 2000 series lineup.The most important features in my opinion is the barcode scanning and the ability to setup presets. You can create workflows for a specific task and can just click the "One Touch" button to start scanning and have your chosen formats and destination set.The hardware is very good and capable and handles a range of paper thickness and weights. At 600 dpi and 25 ppm and up to 3000 pager. Although the software is pretty easy to use but it does have a bit of a learning curve to it. If you're going to scan more than 3000 pages a da, I would recommend the 2000, 3000 series.Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
