Original Turtle Fur Fleece - The Turtle's Neck, Heavyweight Neck Warmer

Terrible quality! We bought it for my kid before our ski trip. When we hand washed it before first wear, the dye came out and it also dyed my sink :-( As the result, we didn’t use it at all and ended up buying another brand at ski place.

The attached photo shows the pilling and shedding of the surface of a Turtle Fur neck warmer that I wore about 8 times. As you can see, the fibers on the surface (which give it the unusually soft feel) have come loose and are forming something like lint on the surface of the fabric. When I take the neck warmer off, balls of the lint cling to my face. I am still using the neck warmer, which is soft and comfortable, but I am using my fingers to pull the clumps of fibers from the surface, so they are not itchy and do not come off on my clothing and face. Knowing what I now know, I would not have purchased this neck warmer. I also bought a similar neck warmer sold by Carhartt, which is the same size, but it is less expensive and the fabric does not shed like this; initially, it does not feel as luxurious, but in the long run, I prefer it.

The first week using it was great. However, I began to notice a few issues with the fabric being used.Pros:It is super stretchy, therefore it wont ruin the hair too much.It is very warm and keeps the blustery wind outIt is long so you can cover you neck and half your face at the same timeCons:The problem is when it covers half your face and mouthStrands of fabric end up in your face - very fine strands of clothIf your lips are dry as they usually are during the winter, these little strands will stick to your lips and rip your lip's skin off.Overall, it is a function piece of winter gear, but just use it as scarf and not a face cover.

It's tight on your face, really hard to breath comfortably. Therefore, the warm breath mixing with the cold air will make it damp & cold at my mouth. As well, brought the same color hat, navy, and there is a significant noticable color difference so they look terrible next to each other. It is soft though, so there's that.Update to my review, I washed this as another review recommend and WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK. It's now pilled and looks terribly worn, like it's 200 years old and been in shallow grave. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

I loved the first Turtle's Neck I bought so much that I bought a bunch more...and was immediately disappointed because the fit of each one is different. So while they all use the same great, soft, and very warm fabric, how comfortable each is to wear depends on the cut of each.

I’m disappointed with the product. I’m not sure where to start. So the fit is totally off. You can’t use it to cover your face since it loose fitting, not stretchable and will fall off. Also the thickness of the textile is uncomfortable.Now the quality is not great either. like what other have commented the color bleeds and there’s a shedding problem after first use. I only wash this by hand so it shows how bad the quality is.

As a family of three we are everywhere no matter the weather. We wear these neck warmers everywhere. I raise natural raised hogs with my Dad. So they are not confinement. In turn we are outside for 5-6 hours a day. I have no problem with my neck getting cold. It fits an average sized adult well. It is long enough to put up over my nose and mouth for an extra chilly day. My husband's experience is a good one as well. He rides motorcycles on the ice. They put screws in the tires for those of you who don't know. So to be outside for a couple of hours going 60-80 mph around a circle and still have a warm neck is amazing. If he can't find his, mine will disappear and back and forth we go. That is how much we love them. Lastly my seven year old is a sledding fiend. He will sled for hours on end. He wrecks and just gets covered. No issues with this doing the job. It also fits him quite well and he is average size for his age. Him and his buddies will also trek around the timber and it does well. I have let his friends borrow mine and their moms often ask were to get them. It does well in the washing machine as well.

Let me start off by at least stating that this is a really warm garment, so it definitely succeeds on that front. The reason I am rating only three stars is because of the excessive pilling and shedding that at least the orange colored version has done, even after washing. It's so bad and clings to absolutely everything that it actually discourages me from wearing it, which is a shame, because I really do appreciate how warm it keeps my face while sleeping in my hammock in the winter. I'm curious as to whether a different color might not show or even shed as much.

I needed a breathable neck covering to keep me warm whilst Nordic Walking. I bought this because it was described as breathable and was on special offer. I have been pleased with my purchase, it keeps the wind off my neck and as described it is breathable. It has allowed me to be out walking on really chilly days and be comfortable. So pleased that I ordered another in a different colour. They wash well and dry overnight just being hung on a hanger near a radiator.

I bought this item for my husband , & he is delighted with it , its a snug fit very soft &warm he particularly wanted red this is a lovely colour not too red for a man ! It arrived very promptly well packed I would recommend this item .

Love it! Great colour, such soft warm fleece, fits easily over my head no panic attack I'm going to be stuck! (Sadly I'm not slim-like food too much!)I've worn it for a hill walk, around town and just walking the dog and haven't felt cold with it on once really nice and good value.

Far more practical than a scarf but found the cheap fleece material frayed and bobbled with very little use.

Very warm and comfortable. Only issue is the tag tends to scratch my neck. It's a small problem though.
