It's never failed. I like everything about it. 5/5
It just works. This Anker SD Card Adapter is great especially if you're using USB-A ports. I've never had a single issue with this. It does what it says. Copies files to/from devices and Reads/Writes like a champ. I copy a lot of files from my DAW (Desktop) to my Laptop workstation. I do Custom Battle Records in Soundforge Pro and drop them into my Serato DJ Pro library with this SD Card Adapter. When I finish one or more sample chop, Battle Record masterpieces 🤔 I put the Wav file(s) onto an SD Card with this adapter plugged into my DAW (Desktop) Then eject the adapter and plug it into my Laptop. It works like a thumb drive but for SD cards. It only takes a few seconds to copy a few gigabytes of Wav files. I pick the crate I want to use & drop the new Wav files into my Serato DJ Pro software Plug the cable back into the laptop from my Pioneer DJM DJ mixer and click analyze inside the Serato software. Now the software sees the new file(s) and analyzes the various parameters. File Name, BPM, Length, Bit rate etc. For those of you who use this software remember to put your files in the music folder on your main internal/OS drive for best performance. It provides the quickest round trip, point A to point B. Basically once I have the files I want to copy, that whole process take about 5 min or less. The Anker might not be the best SD Card reader/writer you can buy. The SanDisk Professional SD Card Reader probably takes that spot but if you need a reliable portable SD Card Reader/Writer that does what it's supposed to without any hassle. Anker makes one of the best I've ever used. I plan on getting a portable usb-c Card Adapter as well, because usb-c is so ubiquitous, and the standard protocol. That said, I've had the Anker SD card adapter for over a year and I'll probably be using it for many more. I didn't know what to expect in terms of compatibility, ease of use and reliability when I got this. But the Anker SD Card Adapter exceeded my expectations. I produce music for a living. I need the things I use for that to not only work but help save time I use SD cards in my MPC. So I use this for that too. This might be a small device but it plays a surprisingly large role in my everyday workflow More than I expected it to when I bought it. But regardless of how you plan to using this to copy and transfer files, whatever the scenario as long as you're careful, it may be portable but it's still plastic it should remain a reliable SD card adapter for years. Connectivity is straight forward. In terms of heat it gets warm but usually not hot while in use. The card slots all function properly and easy to use. Again, think of this like a thumb drive for SD cards. It's Small but still capable of big jobs. The materials used on plastic with a metal/aluminum USB port as you'd expect. I've used this 100 times and it's never failed. I like everything about it, you probably will too. 5/5

New to Anker, gave this a shot and didn't disappoint
So I wrote a different review about a power strip I bought. I bought this AFTER I bought the power strip because I was very impressed with the tech, clean layout, and it seems very stable.I had a malfunctioned Samsung microSD card that nearly started a fire and/or burned my laptop motherboard (no joke, literally burned me trying to get it out) so I went with a SanDisk microSD card and needed a reader so that I don't risk that ever happening again. Since the Anker platform strip that I bought was really good, I stumbled across an Anker brand reader and decided to get it.It was really easy, just plugged it in and immediately recognized the SD card. I've used it a few times now and no issues. It's USB3 and I was able to pop over a few gigs of music quickly - the reader seems to process data fast.Since I'm new to microSD card readers I don't really have anything else to say. If it's anything like normal data transmitting with USB sticks then I would say it blazingly fast. I will contest that if anyone IS having issues with copying over files quickly, it would be the motherboard (and that just comes from knowledge of computer building over the years). As an example, I plugged this into my laptop and it dipped a couple of times - meaning it will stay consistent rate of MB/S and then all the sudden drop for no reason. Nothing major, but I have been struggling with processor and heat problems on this laptop. On another computer it doesn't do that. Mild dips at times, but that's it.Overall I'm just putting a tech-wise disclaimer in defense of the product that if you have a slower bus speed on your motherboard or a laptop that's under 1,000$ more than likely it's just a normal power problem with dips. This is also not even a real issue anyways considering it doesn't effect much of the speed process. I think I transferred 12 gigs in a couple minutes - I don't fully recall but it wasn't like 10 minutes or something - I just let it do it's thing and it was done.So it's very good quality. I think I will be continuing purchasing things from Anker. Like I said in my other product review I'm new to Anker so I didn't know what to expect. So far so good. Speaker might be next on the list <3
