I'm confused. Some reviewers state that the top section holds 10 bottles, and some say it hold 8 (horizontal). Which is it?

There appears to be 2 different configurations. The one pictured here has the fixed shelf splitting the two units lower than the one I received. I cannot put a horizontal shelf above if I use the upright shelf configuration. I can put 3 bottles upright and 4 horizontal in the upper section. I can then put 10 in the lower section. Since I drink more reds, I would prefer having fewer in the lower section which can be made cooler for whites. The wire shelving, can be moved around to reconfigure, but I don't believe the solid shelf can.
