Q: Is there any problems if I mix two pilot iroshizuku inks together?

I’m coming into this thread almost ten years after this question was asked but I wanted to add a little on this topic. First and most importantly, No you will have no problems mixing Iroshizuku inks. I just started doing this after finding some old Iroshizuku inks I had stored and forgotten about. Frankly, I strongly encourage you give this a try because I just mixed two blue variants and created my most favorite color ink. Now here’s the really important part- Not all Pilot inks are Iroshizuku. The company offers different lines of inks and where this could get you in trouble is if you mix one of their pigmented lines with an Iroshizuku. Pigmented inks do not always feed well in certain fountain pens. I have a Pilot Custom Urushi and it will not perform well with Pilot pigmented inks. Who would have thought this would be an issue- Pilot ink in a Pilot Pen, but it didn’t write consistently. Hope this insight helps anyone with this question. Cheers from Boston

I believe these are dye based inks that are water soluble. It is not waterproof. It will not damage your brushes even if it dries on the brush.

No, Pilot Iroshizuku inks are not waterproof. When doing water color washes, I use waterproof ink pens such as Pigma Micron pens or use Platinum Carbon Ink with a dip or fountain pen.

The ink is 50ml. I really can recommend this ink. It feeds well in about every pen I own. Good wetting and the choice of rich colors is wide. The bottle is a rich design and well molded.
