Can this work without the carbon filter? Seems kinda dumb have a secondary filter if the straw is doing it's job.

the "straw" inside IS the filter. the bottle can work without it, but it does NOT filter without ths tube inside the bottle as shown in the picture. It is removeable, just unscrew it fron ths inside of ths lid, fill, and enjoy.

Why is there a prop 65 warning?

The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (commonly referred to as Proposition 65), requires manufacturers to include warnings on packaging and websites for products that may expose users to chemicals that are included on the state’s Proposition 65 list. how are you supposed to use this for many months without mold growing inside?

Although a wonderful life saving product; I had the same dilemma and have quit using mine. Saving one for an emergency but no longer use it casually
