Tasty, Versatile, Easy to Cook and Healthy - Can't ask for more!
This was my first time trying Oat Groats. I like this much more than regular Oatmeal or steel cut Oatmeal. I like foods with texture and this is chewy and tasty. I eat this almost daily as part of a healthier diet. I love that it's so versatile - I can go sweet or savory, depending on my mood. Easy to cook. This is now a staple and I keep a pack in my freezer as a backup. Highly recomnend.

Very dirty grits, not washed out.
I have been buying this brand of oatmeal for a long time and everything has always been fine, I was satisfied. Usually I bought 3-5 pounds, this time I bought 25 pounds. I opened the package, poured it into a container, but there was a horror when I prepared for cooking (washed), there were a lot of black, incomprehensible grains in the cereal, which were not washed off completely. Well, I cooked and as if they were not visible in the cooked oatmeal, but when I began to eat, there were a lot of them in the cooked oatmeal, they got on my teeth, I almost shook my teeth. I have never seen such a dirty grain. I'm going to return this cereal back. If I bought 2-5 pounds, I would not return. But I bought 25 pounds, what should I do with this dirty oatmeal? ... these are just a few dirty, incomprehensible, hard “pebbles” or grains that I took out of my plate, I threw out the rest of the oatmeal, otherwise I would have definitely broken my teeth ...

Requires more than an hour to cook!
Against what the directions state on the side of the bag, at least ~40-45 minutes for cooking, took more than an hour for fully soft/busted cooked oats!.When I coarsely grind groats or whole oats, then cooking only takes ~40-45 minutes for fully cooking/soft oats. I've since ceased grinding oats, and just boil an hour or use a pressure cooker. No other problems with quality here. Good stuff!Stove/Range Cooking~60 minutes3:1 ratio, three cups water to One cup of oats.Pressure Cooker, second/high pressure ringWARNING: oats can boil over clogging safety valves, only fill pot halfway?~15 minutes preserving oat texture~30 minutes until oats bust open3:1 ratio, three cups water to One cup of oats.American Test Kitchen has a good basic oatmeal recipe, using apple sauce, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt. Typically, I just add cinnamon, nutmeg and sometimes salt. Once cooked, I then use no fat milk and maybe a little maple syrup or sugar substitute.

Good quality, easy to cook
These seem to be just fine, despite all the negative reviews being written. My order of a 5 lb. back in May 2021 arrived in perfect condition, and were not broken, dirty, stale or in any way compromised. They cook up easily and taste just fine.

Shipping charge
Product is fine. I did not notice at checkout the ridiculous shipping charge and you can be sure I will never reorder. I'm even beginning to wonder why I pay a monthly fee to Amazon.
