I mainly fish backwater, flats, and inlets along the gulf of Mexico and these reels handle Snook, Tarpon, Reds, Cobia, Grouper, etc. with ease.I have three 40s, two series IIIs and a speed freak. I service em every 6 months and none have failed me.

Model 30 is a great size for bay fishing for Trout and Redfish. Model 40 gives you a little more drag for bringing in the larger fish.

I love the weight and the smooth operation. Anti-reverse is solid and the reel is fast. I paid less than $189 for my size 40, but I paid $189 for the size 25 and I would pay $200 for either of them. Incredible reels. They replaced 2 Quantum Bocas from 2005?2007? that really had nothing wrong with them. Great company, great product.

Was looking for a Cabo reel in this size (they don't make it) - chose the Quantum saltwater reel for catching redfish and trout inshore - should be perfect
