Yes, it should slide into that space. There is a chance that you have an old model of dough hook with a shorter, but wider blade. If your dough hook blade is flattened at the bottom instead of tapered to a rounded edge then it will not work with your dough hook because that dough hook is too wide.

Q: Will this work with the cookie paddles?

No. This is for the dough hook only. What you need and what works really well with the cookie paddles (I use it) is the Bowl Scraper Attachment for Bosch Mixer MUZ6BS1. I'm not sure what you're describing. Mine goes on the power post under the dough hook. I've played with it by starting the extender on the side opposite the dough hook's "fin." It lines up with the fin once the motor starts.

It works

I bake bread, but I do not make it in large amounts. This wonderful extender makes it much easier to make one loaf at a time. It takes care of the dough/flour that "sits" in lower part of the mixer bowl and helps incorporate it into the dough. It really is the best $10.00 I've ever spent. If you're thinking about buying this, but are wondering "will it really work"....it does. Go ahead and spend the $$$.

I have had a bosch mixer and a dough hook extender for many years. My daughter recently bought a bosch mixer, but it does not come with a dough hook extender. This one was purchased for her. We like bread making, and this little tool for the bosch mixer is great.
